I heard from a reliable source just last night that Coach Brown from Bourbon has always wanted to be the head coach at Henry Clay since he was an assistant there.

 

I'd advise Brown to go to HC, it's a move up the ladder, plus Bourbon has lost something on the range of 13 players over the last 2 years. Bourbon is a solid job, but it's not the quality job that a Henry Clay provides....

 

If Brown does leave, it would mark two straight years where Bourbon has lost a coach to Lexington (Salsman last year to Lex Cath)...

 

I really dont see Buddy leaving for Mercer, but anything is possible....

 

I forgot in my original post, but congratulations to coach Chiles, I enjoyed watching your teams play, and you will be missed. Good luck in broadcasting (I think that's what he wants to do now..)

I heard there have been over 100 inquiries or applicants. I have not heard as to when it will be announced. The coach will be required to teach five hours per day which will eliminate some potential candidates. It is a Fayette County job so the pay will not be the best. Tremendous potential to win big right away. Toughest basketball district in the state!

How do you know the coach will be required to teach 5 hours a day? Fayette pay is low? I thought it would be really good in comparison to the rest of the state? Am I wrong on that assumption?

Also, you can look up the policies on different subjects like what they can and cannot do as to positions. But yes, head coches in Fayette County are full time teachers and if I am not mistaken, cannot also hold AD's or Administration positions anymore.

The basketball job is no longer listed on this site, so they must have the number of names they are looking for to replace former coach Chiles.

I read somewhere that the application deadline was May 19 ... so the process starts soon.

It must have been before that because I checked the Fayette County site on Wednesday and the job was not up there at that time.

That would not surprise me at all. He liked it when he was an assistant there and they liked him as well. He could be a very good fit and maybe he would stay put for a while. If he were to take that job, then leave after a short period of time, his first name would have to be changed to Larry instead of Daniel!
