Bengals' record

Featured Replies

Now that most of free agency is over and the draft is over, how will the Bengals do?

I say 11-5, 10-6.

1st or tied for 1st(Wild Card) in the division.

Wins- KC, Cle, NE, TB, Car, Atl, SD, NO, Bal, Oak, Pitt

Loss-Pitt, Bal, Cle, Ind, Den

What say you?

9-7. Reality of a tougher schedule and Carson not being completely healthy early in the season dooms the Bengals season.

Wins - Bal 2 wins, Cle 2 wins, NE, Atl, NO, Oak, TB or Car

Loss - KC @Pitt, Ind, Den, SD, TB or Car, and Pittsburgh at home.

9-7. Reality of a tougher schedule and Carson not being completely healthy early in the season dooms the Bengals season.

I disagree. The defense it totally revamped and the LBs that were solid rookies have a year under their belts. Carson comes back healthy and I think they are a better team than the defending super bowl champs. The offense was dominant last year and they should be again. Not to mention the defense should be top ten this year instead of bottom 5.

And the bolded, to me is the key. Carson comes back healthy, I could go with a 11-5 record. But I think they lose to KC and Pittsburgh early while Carson is either not back or hot completely returned healthy. They lose the last game to Pittsburgh when it gives Pittsburgh home field advantage for the playoffs and is a meaningless game for the Bengals in regards to the playoffs.

Those last 3 games are BRUTAL. They could easily go 0-3 and not play bad.

I agree with you -- I think 9-7, given the situation, would actually be pretty good.

In the opener, the Bengas' defense will be out for blood after last year's debacle-what a motivational tool for Coach Lewis. Plus, the starters should be healthy being the opener. KC has L. Johnson & Tony Gonzalez, but their WRs are nothing special. Adams, Jackson, M. Williams, Pollack, and Thurman with more experience will be the difference on defense.(plus, Carson will play!)

SD with Phillip Rivers, a virtual rookie, at QB will not come into Cincy and win.

TB & Carolina will be tough; TB on the road will be tougher.

They will not get swept by Pittsburgh; both teams will hold home court this season.

Debacle will be blamed on Kitna. The egos of some of the Bengals stars won't allow themselves to take the blame when Jon is right there to take the blame.

SD = LT. He might have 200 yards in total offense that day.

If it was Carolina on the road, I would have picked them. I think they get one of these games.

I debated on that last game. But thought it will come down to it being a very important game for the Steelers as they battle Indy for the #1 seed and the Bengals will have either a game in which they have already been eliminated or they need to win and 49 other things happen for them to get in.

Now, let me also say, I hope I am wrong.

With Rivers at QB, LT will be a target; these are not your father's Bengals on defense any more; look for huge improvements this season.

I say 11-5

wins- Clev twice, Balt twice, split with Pitt, NE, Tampa Bay, NO, OAK, SD, CAR

Loses- Pitt, ATL, DEN, Indy, KC

Worst case scenario, they go 2-2 before the bye if they dont get Carson before then.

I think they beat KC, but lose to either NE or SD.

I agree with 11-5.

Do you actually think that the Bengals will beat the Browns both times during the regular season? I think you're not giving them the respect they deserve after a more than spectacular offseason so far. They have totally upgraded their defense and will be far better than people think.

Now getting back to the Bengals record I think the Bengals will finish 10-6.

Whatever record it takes to make the playoffs is what I think they will get. Now what it will take this year to make the playoffs Im not sure. I'd say no less than 10-6.
