Carlos Contreras: 1.29 ERA, 7 IP, 1 ER, 13 K

I can understand the Reds maybe wanting to leave Lorenzen and Iglesias in the AAA rotation because they envision them as starters long term. But what about Contreras, his stint last season wasn't great but he had good strikeout numbers. Can't be worse than what is being ran out there right now. Outside of Chapman and maybe Jumbo he'd instantly have the best pure stuff or anyone in the pen. Low to mid 90's FB that can touch 97 at times and a plus change.

What year are the throwback jerseys going to be from on Friday night?

1990, lol.

Will the Cub fans overtake the number of Reds fan this weekend?

Sounds a lot like JJ Hoover.

Yeah, but Hoover's actually been pretty solid this season.

They just need to blow up the pen.

Minus the 3 walks that preceded the grand slam given up by Badenhop with a 8 run lead the other night.

Yep. Prior to that he had thrown 5 innings with 3 hits, 1 run, 2 BBs. I'll take that all year long.

Couldn't agree more. Ive been frustrated over the years at the Reds unwillingness to make logical moves but if the Reds keep running the same goons out of the pen I don't know how much longer I can watch them. Even though I don't have much free time I always take 3+ hours out of my day to either watch this team on TV or attend in person and it's not fair to time and time again watch them lose the same way.

The starters are keeping them in games and the hitters are even doing enough to win, it's a joke. Even last night when the Reds offense couldn't do squat, they got the big 2 run HR from Byrd and the team was in position to win. Between the pen and the whole Mesoraco fiasco I don't know that I've ever been more frustrated with the Reds.

You and me both. Reds management refusal to address the bullpen issues is beyond perplexing to me. To me it just shouts to the fans that we really don't care about winning.

Does anyone think the Reds can win any of the games in this series? I say they steal 1 but I'm not holding my breath.

Will the Cub fans overtake the number of Reds fan this weekend?

I don't know, but my guess is no. This series has been touted as the 1990's throwback series, so I think you'll see a strong showing from Reds fans.

Yeah, there's not a chance there are more Cubs fans there.

Ratio will probably be something like 3-1...
