April 24, 201511 yr Anyone who thinks Votto isnt any good, really doesnt know baseball. The guy is good, plain and simple. HOF, maybe not, but good, yes.
April 24, 201511 yr So you really don't think Votto is any good, and you really think a bunch of 50+ guys would be able to effectively pitch in the majors after 15+ years layoff? I do not think Votto is this superstar player no. Average to above average. He still does things that superstars dont do. (IE not swinging the bat at to pitches that were strikes, when they Reds are down 3 in their last at bat vs Cards.) The Nasty Boys through better pitches in their sleep than a few of the current Reds bullpeners.

April 24, 201511 yr Is this really Price's doing? How many options do the guys on the 40 man have left? That could be playing a huge role. I assume it was Price's decision to pinch hit Mesoraco in a mostly meaningless at-bat in the 26 run game several days ago.
April 24, 201511 yr I assume it was Price's decision to pinch hit Mesoraco in a mostly meaningless at-bat in the 26 run game several days ago. And pitch Kevin Gregg 3 times since Cingrani has pitched.

April 24, 201511 yr I assume it was Price's decision to pinch hit Mesoraco in a mostly meaningless at-bat in the 26 run game several days ago. Having a short roster, and using the wrong personnel are two different subjects.
April 24, 201511 yr I assume it was Price's decision to pinch hit Mesoraco in a mostly meaningless at-bat in the 26 run game several days ago. Unbelievably dumb move. If it's an at bat that decides a ball game.... maybe. Not in this game or situation. All you have done is started over on the days that you can make a DL move retroactive. The only way it possibly happens is to give him a look at some live pitches if he is going to be back in the next day or two.... He hasn't been back yet, so...
April 24, 201511 yr I'll take the Reds winning 2 out of 3 games in the series, what's everyone else's thoughts? I'll take a new manager and GM.
April 24, 201511 yr Hamilton CF Votto 1B Frazier 3B Phillips 2B Bruce RF Byrd LF Pena C Cozart SS Leake P 12 days playing a man down on the bench. Price should be fired solely for his handling of Mesoraco at this point. What does he have to do with the handling of Mesoraco? If Walt and company choose not to DL him then should Price walk in and say I quit?
April 24, 201511 yr It has nothing to do with options. 2 other catchers are already on the 25 man roster. You'd simply send him to the DL and bring up a guy already on the 40 man, like Chris Dominguez, who began the season with the big league club. And a guy who is really tearing it up in AAA.
April 24, 201511 yr What does he have to do with the handling of Mesoraco? If Walt and company choose not to DL him then should Price walk in and say I quit? You saying Walt made the decision to use Meso to PH in a meaningless situation on Wednesday restarting his "DL clock"?
April 24, 201511 yr You saying Walt made the decision to use Meso to PH in a meaningless situation on Wednesday restarting his "DL clock"? I am saying Walt was part of the decision process, yes as was Kremchek. There is a reason that a move is not being made and I believe that Brian Price as little to know control over the situation.
