Not sure anyone can say for certain why they decided to move on. Don't feel it is in anyone's best interest to throw things out there without knowing. Let the kids move on and I wish them the best of luck in all that they do. If the Harpers came out and said it to someone then by all means post it - its public then.

My understanding is Trinity welcomes Mike Wagner back as an assistant coach on the Freshmen team. His experience and enthusiasm will be a great asset to the program.

I was hearing the same thing around the picnic scene this weekend. What a great addition having Coach Wagner back on the Freshman level. I'm a big fan of Coach Magre in the classroom and on the football field. I personally feel like the young men coming through T should take advantage of the time they spend with Coach Magre...he is one in a million in my book. But getting Coach Wagner back with the freshman is taking things to another level. Must be a special group of young men planning to enroll if Coach Wagner is moving out of the booth. I look forward to it and wish them luck.

I had spoken to a family member just days before this came up. That is why I was very surprised. All the talk was about excitement for the upcoming season at Trinity.

Maybe they went on vacation and forgot to mention they would be gone for two weeks :-)

What part of last year's championship was lucky or an upset? Trinity dominated every aspect of game. T, St. X and Male were head and shoulders above the rest of 6A.

That said, I think Manual was also better than everyone gives them credit for.

Correct...Manual is left out of the discussion too often. I think the Crimsons would have beat Dixie by 2 or more TD's in the championship. We've said it many times, Manual may have had the best defense in the city last year.

 

Been tough on the Shamrock boys the past few days. Proud of the way so many of them have responded. We very well could have another special group of seniors.

In any other district Manual would have been a 1 seed (maybe a 2 in the district with Scott County but I'm not convinced of that) yet they entered the playoffs as a 4 seed, took a 4 hour bus trip and beat a 1 seed by 2 touchdowns.
