At first glance I thought the basketball ring looked pretty similar to the 1997 football ring. After seeing your photos, it's obvious that they were going for the same look with the design.

All four of those are REALLY sharp looking! Of the four, I'd say that I like '13 and '14 the most.

Ha! As far as I know the seniors were in charge of designing it, and I doubt they had any idea of what the 97 rings looked like! But it is my knowledge that the "With a Spirit That Will Not Die" goes on all CCH rings, so it was really the top/opposite side that they get to design.
