Western Ky & Eastern Ky top 5 last 5 years

Featured Replies

Belfry #3 and Danville #4? That's interesting.

I was wondering the same thing since Danville has 2 titles in the last 5 years (2001 and 2003) and another title game appearance in 2004. That's just slightly better than Belfry's performance in this five year span. (If you go back just one more year to 2000 it wouldn't even be a comparison as the Ads add another title from that year.)

The thread title says "Western Ky" and "Eastern Ky" ...

I don't think anyone considers Highlands, Beechwood and Danville to be in "Eastern Ky." Nor do Trinity, St. Xavier and Boyle County fit in "Western Ky."

By the way, how does Danville get in the east and Boyle in the west? They're in the same town, after all ...

Yes, but everyone knows that Boyle is on the "West" end of town and Danville is on the "East" end of town. :D :thumb:

So do you leave the northern and central KY schools out? The have to be included somewhere. Maybe just draw that line through the middle of Danville.

When I read the thread, I thought the thread starter intended just WKY and EKY. The NKY and CKY schools would belong in their own top 5, but for whatever reason, this thread was only about the left and right ends of the state. Or at least that is how I read it.

Yes exactly..LOL

I'll assume your not from the MTNS since your list includes Beechwood...

I think he's looking at how the football regions break down. By that determination, Beechwood is in eastern Kentucky with Danville in the west.

As Watusi said though, I was just thinking it referred to EKY teams and WKY teams, then CKY, NKY, Louisville and Lexington schools would have their own break down. Since the thread starter, Tigertalker did not inlcude Danville (which would be an obvious choice) then I figured he meant only what I stated before.

We have a WINNER!!! That was my intentions Western Ky & Eastern Ky.

I eventually after getting a consistent top 5 on each side wanted to take it and see the opinions on who would win IF the head to head matchup would have ever happend. Like the 1 in the West VS the 1 in the East and so on and so on.

I've talked with some coaches across the state a couple not from the Western Ky area about this topic and it's interesting to hear a COACHES opinion. Plus it's the offseason so this is good to kill some time with.
