Shout out to my guy Cooper T. Man, I am going to miss watching that kid go. Thrilled for his bounce back this year.

I read way too much this week about how CCH was going to take the cake. Congratulations Oboro. You were the better team and good luck next round!

If by "better team", you mean - 50/50 game with a bounce here or there, or a made free throw here or there and the result would have been different, then I'll agree with you. Otherwise, I saw two teams playing their tail off on the big stage, with a very deserving O'boro team coming out on top in the end. I hope Miller is healthy for today's game.

...and I must have missed all of the posts saying CCH was going to "take the cake."

Did I hear correctly that the big boy Miller may prep next year in Florida?

I sat behind the head coach of Belmont. Not sure if he was there scouting or just seeing friends.

My kids all older now - youngest is 22.

It was bittersweet last night sitting with MTGL and his boy(grade school kid). It was unfortunate the Colonels lost and I had to watch his son get teary-eyed but at the same time it brought break great memories of my kids having that passion for the teams they supported as youngsters. I remember my son crying when his favorite team lost. It's great to see kids invested emotionally.

My man got over it after a while but he was right there with his boys Cole, Bo, etc in spirit(that will not die).

While it came in a loss, Matthew Shumate's shot is way up there on the list of biggest shots in CCH history.

Don't know much about greatest shots in CovCath history, but I cant imagine one bigger than that!!! Had they won that game, there would be a statue of him at the school. Clutch.

It was definitley one of the best. I'd put Ruthsatz's half court shot in the district championship against Holmes up there too.

He looked like he knew it was going in

But the fans were in a bit of shock

AllenR, Thanks for sharing the Pics.

The only person in Rupp more disappointed than the Owensboro team/fans that that shot was released before the horn blew and went in was the bald ref.

No doubt he would have ran onto the court blowing his whistle for 10 seconds so that everyone would be watching him and only then, wave off the basket with an overly exaggerated swinging of the arms.

Great game to watch the players from both teams.

Congratulations Colonels on a great run.

Congratulations Owensboro on the win and eventual title. Very deserving.

Rod Drake, Dwight Higgs , Tony James , Chucky Riley, Terrance Thompson ...1980

I think a couple of these guys starred in fb the during the '80 season as well.

Yep..and Drake and Higgs played pro in Europe...two of 6 pro basketball ballers from OHS
