Final from Rupp Arena.

Hoptown moves on to face Owensboro in Friday's Quarterfinals.

Turnovers and free throws did Taylor County in.

...and experience in Rupp wins out.

Solid year for Taylor County and they have nothing to hang their heads about. Something tells me they'll be back next season, but that's just a hunch...

No doubt....

Five Tigers in double figures, led by Jaqualis Matlock's 16.

Quentin Goodin leads all scorers with 23 points. David Sloan adds 19 points & 8 rebounds.

17-32 FTs for Taylor Co.

Along with 19 TOs.

Hoptown looked really good today. Taylor County likes to play up tempo basketball, but that played right into Hoptown's hands. Taylor County will be back next year and the beat rolls on for Hoptown, who's been to 4 straight sweet 16s. Owensboro will have to play much better against Hoptown than they did today or Hoptown will cruise into the final 4. Can't wait till Friday!

I agree with all of this.

Yuck....

Good game by Taylor County! They should be one of the favorites to start the season next year! A month ago i would have told everyone Hoptown was gonna be lucky to make it out of the region, just wasn't playing team ball. The blowout to Trinity really woke them up and showed them they have to play together to win. From watching them all year long I will say they have hit their peak right now. Will that be enough to get past the interior size advantage of Owensboro? We shall see.

No knock to tc. But like I previously said they are a year or two from winning in #theRupp great team. But I wasn't impressed by there record it's 0-0 this week and about experience. I think hhs will speed up Owensboro and run those bigs tongues or their mouth Friday night.

Some knock Haworth's coaching, but he has had a great gameplan against Henderson and Taylor County, two top 5 teams in the final rankings.

Very true. Taylor County was the higher ranked team but Hoptown looked like the better team from the tip.

I hate to toot my own horn but "Toot Toot"..... That's one Western Kentucky team that has knocked off one of the "Top Teams" in the State... So far Western Kentucky is 2-0 in the playoffs... If the Purples win tomorrow, WKY will be 3-0. From there on I like our odds on making it to the Championship Game.
