Any BGPers Tried Uber Yet?

We were in need of a ride Saturday night in Nashville and a cab was going to be 45 minutes to an hour. So, my buddy thought of Uber.

 

He downloaded the app and got $20 free just for signing up. The Uber girl showed up about 10 minutes later and gave us a ride from Goodlettsville to downtown Nashville for FREE (cab was going to be $40 each way).

 

Not only that, she was kind of hot and flirty. I ended up getting her number and texted her at 3:00 a.m. for a ride back to the hotel. On the way back, she managed to work out some other promotional deal and it was also FREE.

 

She also said that she will give us a free ride this coming weekend at the SEC Tournament because I am going to sign up this time.

 

If you're in a city and need a ride, I highly recommend Uber (or Lyft). Trust me :thumb:

It's so much better than a normal cab. I'll probably use it from now on.

It is pretty good to use if you live inside the 275 loop in Cincinnati.

I used it once and in my not so clear thoughts I accepted the surcharge they had in effect. What would've been a $25 cab ride was roughly $100. Never used it again.

Say there is a big event in town or the Uber drivers are really busy on a particular night, they institute a surcharge (could be 1.5x, 2x, 4x, etc.) that is a multiplier for your rate. It can get you.

I actually used it last week for the first time. Went to a bar with 3 friends. Didnt really like it that much. Not that there was anything wrong with it but we took a taxi on the way home.

Well I guess it was a different situation. We wanted to try out Uber so we got them to pick us up at my house. Guy wasn't the nicest but that was no big deal. It was late around 3 when we were leaving and it was easier to just find a taxi than wait for Uber driver to come. FWIW we were downtown Cincinnati and I live in Southgate.

Use it ALL the time. Lyft is generally cheaper though, for what that's worth.
