Both teams come into the title game with 1 blemish in Regional play. Oldham lost to North Oldham and Collins lost to Oldham by 25 points in January.

Will Oldham return to Rupp for the first time since 2012, or will Collins prevail?

I think Collins will be better prepared this time. Just got caught up in the tempo over at Oldham and got thrashed. I think they even quit playing.

Not sure they can pull the upset but it will be a game. I have said for over a month it is Oldham region to lose.

I think OC wins but it would be ironic if Collins won because I don't think this is their best team in the past few years. The 2012 team that Oldham beat was better I think, but sometimes the time is just right. Don't misunderstand me, Collins is very good, but they are the under dog and in years past they were the favorite or more evenly matched.

Just my thoughts...

Oldham 65 Collins 52

The best team Collins had was 2013 when they got down by 30 to South Oldham, had a miraculous comeback to force OT but lost by 3 in the first round. The 2012 team had a rough start to the year but got hot late and had a lot of size and talent. I still think Oldham was better that year though, they went 31-6 and made it to the Final Four. The past two seasons have been the best for Collins record wise, and the funny thing is both years were expected to be "down" years.

This is Collins' second regional final appearance, with the first coming in 2012, also against Oldham County. A win would not only give the Titans their first trip to Rupp but would also give them a school record for wins at 26.

The Collins team in 2012 was big talented team! Oldham Co was a fun team and a good team that year... the Regional finals was fun (for me) my son played at Oldham.

It won't surprise me if Collins wins.

Hope this game is a good one. I am a big Kidwell fan

2012 was an especially good 8th Region Tournament. Every game was close except for one opening round game (Oldham/Grant). Collins/South Oldham was an excellent first round game and Owen nearly took down Oldham in the semifinals. I remember 6'8" Brian Stone put on a show for Collins until Oldham shut him down in the finals. (Brian, by the way, just finished up his junior season playing for Malone University in Canton, Ohio. He has had a great career so far and averaged 10 points a game this year.) Oldham County played suffocating defense in that final and Collins just couldn't get the ball in the basket.

I'm sure Collins will try to rely on their defense as much as possible and try to slow down an Oldham team that has had no trouble scoring as of late. Kidwell is a fantastic point guard and the Titans will need his steady leadership and scoring ability to come through tonight. Cochran and Test give Collins a very strong trio of guards that are tough to handle. Oldham has a great team, but I do think Collins can beat them.
