That's not the same though. Guns in the hands of an irresponsible kid isn't nearly the same thing as skin color or sexual orientation. Not even close.

They are telling them they can't carry a loaded gun or store a loaded gun in their own home. That is ridiculous.

These people have the right to own their guns and to conceal carry. They even can do those things and adopt. The law simply asks that they store their ammo and guns in different locations. Thus it falls to them. Do you want to have kids or do you want to have loaded guns in the house?

 

There are numerous times where certain activities call for restriction on people's ability to do something that they're well within their rights to do. Take flying for example. If a person with a conceal carry wants to fly, they know that for the time they're in the airport/air they have to "give up" or suspend that right. If they have an issue with it, they can drive to their destination. It's their choice. No different here IMO.

I can tell the government, okay, I'll lock my loaded guns up and ammo in separate container and when they leave or do random checks I'll leave them unlocked and out in the open all day long. I can't hide being black from them.

And I think it's absurd to have a an unloaded gun. Home owner to intruder, hold on a second while I get my bullets. Absurd. Maybe we can get the intruder to call ahead so they can be ready.

And for the record I'm not a gun owner but 100% support the right to get one if I want.

You know what, from now on when I go out to bars I want to drive home. I think the law is discriminating against me for wanting to do that. Just because I am legally drunk doesn't mean I can't make it to my house. Discrimination!!!!!!!!!

Read the fine print, they can have a loaded gun in the house. The links say that they can have a loaded gun in the house. Just lock it up if you want to adopt a kid.

Everyone needs to read that paragraph so we can advance the discussion with us all on the same page. They can have a loaded gun in the house as long as it is locked up. Why is that such a violation of their rights?
