Shelby County 75 Anderson County 73 (30th District Semifinals)

Featured Replies

Rockets avenge the regular-season loss and move on to face Collins in the 30th District finals.

Good luck to the Rockets! Glen Drury will be missed in the regional tournament.

Anderson led by 5 after 3 quarters & then Shelby outscored the Bearcats 22-15 in the 4th.

Kyler Dugle scored 22 to lead the winners.

I agree with Colonelmike. The 30th was absolutely brutal to play in this year. That was an absolute great basketball game to watch with both teams laying it all out there. Anderson surprised a lot of people this year. Interesting stat of the night - Shelby shot 29 free throws compared to Anderson's 11. Shelby shot 10 free throws in the 4th and didn't have a single could called on them.

Single foul*. Not saying this is why Anderson lost bc I actually thought it was a decent called game. Just pointing out the stats.

Good luck finding a seat Saturday night. There is no way everyone is getting in that little gym. No matter what team wins or loses, I think most teams are wanting to stay away from the 30th. It was certainly the strongest district this year with two great first round games.

Couldn't agree more. 30th, top to bottom, is one of the most overlooked districts.

Austin Cummins finished his career with 22 points for Anderson, 18 coming in the first quarter. Shelby went to a diamond and one defense on Cummins after the first. He finished with 9 assists.

How in the world in a game this close and tightly contested that, if true, Shelby didn't get blown for a single foul in the 4th quarter? I wasn't at the game so I can't say one way or the other, but man that seems almost impossible unless AC was just coming down the floor and settling for jumpers right off the bat.

Anderson did settle for quite a few threes, I will say that. However, not to find one single foul in one of the most fierce opening round games in the state? It does seem a little crazy. I thought they could have given Cummins many of ball handling fouls. This was one of the most heated games I've seen in awhile. Reminded me of the old Shelby-Anderson rivalry games. The fouls weren't the reason that Anserson got beat but it sure didn't help them out.
