NFL Scouting Combine

Agreed. If there was one to drop farther in the draft my guess would be Dupree. I think Fowler, Gregory, Beasley or Ray will go top 10. Then maybe a couple might slide.

You really think 4 of the top 10 will be edge rushers? Gotta think that 2 QBs will be off the board. At least 2 WR, then you have Williams from USC. Shelton the NT from Washington. I'd say maybe 2 of those edge rushers are gone. Waynes from MSU may come off in the top 10 also.

Depends. Do you count Leonard Williams as an edge rusher? I see him going 2 to Titans, Jags possibly taking Fowler or Gregory. Falcons at 8 HAVE to have an edge rusher, thats 3. Redskins or Raiders are the options there. Both of them could use an edge rusher and both of them could not. They are the wildcards I guess you could say.

Anyone else see this man run his 40? The momentum he had going, he was cruising :lol2:

No, I don't count Williams as an edge rusher. I don't think anyone has ever categorized him as such considering his only liability is coverage in space. But he's gonna be an all pro, I have no doubt.

If Williams is on the board at 3 the Jags will bull rush the podium with his name written on it. If the Tacks take him at 2 with Mariota on the board they will trade down I believe, just depends on who gives up the farm to trade up. If they are forced to pick at 3 I think Fowler will be the pick. I like Fowler as a prospect more than the others. He isnt exceptional at anything but having a motor. He seems to give all on every play, but isn't particularly athletic or have closing ability. He's my favorite of the DE/OLB guys available.

I tend to agree. I wonder who would be willing to move up for Mariota. Lots of speculation I'm sure, and what it would take to get him. If I had to bet on it, I'd say the Titans will take Williams. He's the closest thing to a sure thing in this draft IMO. Whisenhunt just added Lebeau and it wouldn't shock me if they ride with Mettenberger and bolster the other side of the ball.

I'm not a Tack fan but I have such a hard time believing they are gonna pass on Mariota. They are in such a tough spot. Do they really believe that their 6th round injury prone QB is the future? If they pass on Mariota, and he becomes a good QB I think Whisenhunts job is on the line if Mettenburger doesn't pan out. They will be in the same boat as the Texans were this year, where JJ Watt did everything for that team except take the snaps and they still couldnt get into the playoffs because no QB. I could potentially see the Jets, Rams, Browns or even the Eagles moving up to take Mariota. It just depends on the price to get him.

Side note this is the first year as a Jags fan in a looooooong time where I'm not worried about which QB will be taken where.

I do agree with you on the Williams prediction. I think in 3 years he will in discussion with Watt and Suh on the best defensive player in the league no matter where he goes. Guy has All-Pro written all over him.

Sure, I can see that argument, but at the same time I don't think Mariota steps in and has them at 10-6 either. While it may prove that he needs more time and Whisenhunt can essentially be given a break because of it, I still have my doubts they take him. If Philly or someone else can package picks for that selection and they stockpile picks, I'd wonder if he would be given similar leniency.

The NFL has got to be loving the interest among fans this combine is generating. Next will come the draft and we'll do it all over again.

They are in a tough position which I wont complain about it. My only hope is that they pass on Williams. That's all that I want from them.

I'm just praying for a dream scenario here of the Lions not signing Suh, Jags sign him, Sen'Derrick Marks comes back healthy, and they draft Leonard Williams to have a superb dream D-line. A guy can dream...

Yep, that would be fantastic. How much cap room do the Jags have?

59 million. Next closest is the Browns with 49 million. Jags have LOTS of money to spend.
