59 million. Next closest is the Browns with 49 million. Jags have LOTS of money to spend.

Holy cow. That's some serious FA coin. You have to be excited about the prospects.

Only problem is Jags will no doubt have to over pay some. They can pitch they are an up and coming team with a ton of young talent, a players head coach and no taxes in Florida, but lets be honest, Jacksonville hasnt been known for winning since late 1990's. I expect 2-3 big signings still. Have to spent the money some where. Might as well try and get some high end talent.

For sure. But Jax may really benefit from trading back and getting picks with addition to some FA acquisitions. You have to be excited about the prospects for the future.

Gotta spend it too. Don't teams have to spend 85% of real cap money (penalties from cutting players that go against the cap do not count)?

Jags haven't been good since Coughlin was fired have they?

Correct. The money has to be spent 1 way or another.

There was a year with JDR as coach and Garrard was QB where they were solid. Then Gabbert set em back a couple of years. Their old GM Gene Smith put them years behind as a franchise. There is a total of 3 players on the roster from more than 3 years ago and 1 of them has been in rehab for the past 2 years. The arrow is pointing upwards, but ultimately it all comes down to Blake Bortles and if he pans out like expected. They took the backwards approach which is to build the roster then find the QB. They found the QB and are still building the roster.
