I guess 1500 points was worth more than winning the game. How can your 2nd leading scorer sit the bench for 9 plus minutes to start the game and only play about half the game if that. If I were the parents of Haley Warndorf I would be very upset, no I would be asking what the heck is going on. This was a game Ludlow should have won. I am asking and hope the coaching staff will answer. Why did you sit Warndorf.

I chose to follow Ludlow this year to see where they were headed. Thought this team had a chance to show something with Tori Wofford being a Senior. I was wrong. They beat other small schools and that was it.

Bad coaching job all the way around. Unless Warndorf was being disciplined she should have been on the court.

I to wonder why she would be sitting but I do not however like the comment of her transferring simply for not getting all the playing time? Maybe she was getting some rest for something us fellow posters don't know about, I'm sure there is some explanation for why she sat out. Ludlows girls team have been on a rebuilding road sense Coach Stamm left for Conner, just don't have the talent they had in those days.

Wouldn't she have to sit her junior year?

Sure- she could transfer anywhere she wants- she'd just have to sit out of athletics for a year.

I fixed this post for you. If you are going to congratulate someone, then you leave it at that. This is a high school forum and scoring 1500 points is an accomplishment that doesn't happen at Ludlow much. So don't take away from your first sentence in your post that was a nice post, by adding the negative stuff with it.

As many know on here I am a graduate of Ludlow. I went there my whole life and loved my time there, even though I coach at another school I support Ludlow and wish them nothing but the best. I always follow how the Ludlow teams are doing and try to catch a game or two when I can. I have seen the Ludlow girl's program go in rebuilding mode the last few years and each year I seen improvement, and seen even more improvement this year and that shows by how they are undefeated in conference. Great teams are not made over night, it takes steady improvement and that is happening. So I really hate the fact that someone would get on here and talk about poor coaching, when its obviously not poor coaching if a team does seem to get better each year like they have. This sounds more personal than a valid evaluation, and take it from someone who knows this is not the place to do that, especially when you are wrong in your comments.

 

I have seen Warndorf play and she is a very good player, and I am very sad to see you suggest that she should go play elsewhere. It is thinking like that for why small schools have a hard time sustaining success, and its quite sad to see someone say that. I know I surely hope Warndorf stays at Ludlow, because she will be and already is an important piece for the upward improvement Ludlow is making each year. As far as her not playing, I find it completely crazy to suggest someone wouldn't be played just so someone can score points. From what I understand going into the game Tori Wofford only needed 4 or 5 points to get to 1500. If what I read online is right she averages around 15 to 16 points a game. So it doesn't seem like she would need someone not to play to get those points. So I will completely dismiss that crazy claim.

 

As a coach I can come up with two reasons why a coach may not play or start someone who is one of the best players. One reason is conduct and behavior issues. The other reason is if a player misses practices. I know I have a rule in place if a player misses a practice then they will not start. Which sometimes there are valid reason for someone to miss. However it doesn't mean its a direct punishment for the kid who misses, but it rewards the kids who are there. At the end of the day even though it may be a valid reason for why someone missed, there are other players on the team who are there and who are practicing. So why should they not be rewarded with a chance to start since they were at practice. So if I had to guess there was a good reason for why she didn't start that game, and before you post things you may want to know for sure. Especially when you mention the whole transfer talk because of it. That is just my opinion on that, besides that for the most part I have liked a lot of your post because you do give good details on games and you make sure Ludlow girls have game threads about them like they should. Just in this case though I completely disagree with what you had to say because this seemed more personal rather than a valid evaluation like you seem to normally have when I reading up on things on how Ludlow programs are doing.

So two things here: 1. If Ludlow is truly a school you have no attachment too and just randomly decided to follow, then its safe to say you have no idea what goes on besides on game day correct? Which means you have no idea if something happened for why she didn't start correct? I didn't fail to see that you did completely ignore the reasons why a person may not start. So if you truly don't know, then do you see how wrong you are to be making this big of a deal out of it?

 

2. Or maybe you have more of an attachment to Ludlow than you say you do. Which as I said if a player doesn't start its usually for one of the the two reasons I posted in my previous post. So based off of what you are saying, it doesn't matter if there is a disciplinary reason for them sitting like conduct reasons or missing practices that if it is a winnable game you must still play that player? Is that what you are saying then? That is what it seems like you are implying here, and do you see how once again how wrong that makes you sound? I don't know about you, but I hate coaches that change things based off of the game. If there are certain things in place, then that should be followed no matter how big or small a game is. You don't wait to say ok well this is an easy game, so we can sit this person now. If that is how a coach thinks, then they shouldn't be coaching.

 

So either you truly have no idea what goes on behind the scenes for why the player didn't play meaning you have no reason to say stuff since you don't know. Or you do know more than what you say and your just one of those people who puts winning above everything else and only want things followed if its an easy game. So either way it is not good.

 

So take my advice and just follow that song. Let it go!

Ask Highlands people or CovCath or Notre Dame people about losing. Ask UK fans about losing. If the girl did something wrong have her clean the locker room, run laps or something but If you and other Ludlow people are ok with losing then sit your players.
