Covington Catholic 64 Newport 49

Bo Schuh is approaching 1,000 career points. Somewhere in the 970 to 980 range.

Bellarmine was in town to watch earlier this week.

CCH did a nice job on Snapp.

He had 7 in a short stretch late first/early 2nd. I think he didn't score again until 2:43 left in the 3rd when he got fouled on a 3.

He then scored some late buckets (one really deep).

CVH started off on Snapp and then Cooper T took him. Lots of deny but Newport got him the ball. CCH then did a really nice job playing him straight up. He got a little frustrated and forced some bad shots.

Solid player.

I don't recall a varsity game with as many (correct) travel calls. Both teams had a lot.

My unofficial count was 16. Made the game very choppy and not all that entertaining to watch.

I told Mentsch, if players want to stop the "face guarding" by CVH/Theobald (they are literally less than 2 inch from their face) give them a kiss  or a wet cough......I think either one would do the trick. :lol2:

So that means, assuming he gets there, the 2014 state championship team had THREE Cov Cath 1,000 point club members playing on the court.

Bo Schuh leads CovCath with 19 & 10.

PG Cooper Theobald had 17 and 9 boards.

Heard on the broadcast that this was Coach Ruthsatz' 100th career win as head coach of CovCath.

His 8 year old son brought it to our attention during the halftime "Rollin' with Nolan" show where his duties are to read halftime stats.

He started doing this last season, and it quickly turned into a fun tradition.

ooopps...now I see that there is a thread about it.

"Lots of deny" ...hmm, I remember someone saying in the prediction thread he would see that. :)

17 pts on 5-15 shooting. Not a bad night but sounds like the Colonels held him in check for the most part.

Ruthsatz, Schuh, and CVH is the last one?
