February 13, 201511 yr Good lord someone please slap me for watching that nonsense. They portrayed the 7 yr old kid as a breastfeeding little brat. I typically say keep your hands off my kid but If I acted like that kid's parents did by not disciplining him then I say have at it.
February 13, 201511 yr Seemed like the conflict is a metaphor for common ideas of parenting vs. new progressive parenting. Pretty lame in my opinion.

February 13, 201511 yr I was watching something on DVR last night and when it ended The Slap was on the channel. I was on here so the last few minutes played in the background. From the 20 minutes or so that I saw, the little turd needed to be slapped...even though adults should never slap a child. I think the rest of the series is about how this guys life gets turned upside down. The kid he slapped is related to him some way I think but I'm not sure. Slapper and kids dad already seemed to hate each other. Very Creepy seeing a kid that size breast feeding.
February 13, 201511 yr From what I gather the parents are modern day "Hippies" or at least that's what someone on the show calls them. Slapper is a successful businessman. Family as a whole VERY dysfunctional.

February 15, 201511 yr I went back and watched the entire thing...a lot of stuff going on beside The Slap...I'll give it another look next week. On a side note, the Brat's name is Hugo...I say that to get to this. I was at a Middle School Honors Band Concert tonight, (my baby was 1st Chair Clarinet) and there was this small kid down front acting up and making a lot of noise in the audience. Without thinking I leaned to my wife and said, "I wish someone would shut Hugo up" From now on all Brat's in my mind will be Hugos! #SlapHugo
