Just curious to see how other BGPers go about having their income taxes prepared. I go to an independent local man who is a good friend.

How about you?

Still do paper returns. Always file an extension, have to as one of my K-1's I never get till about June as the corporation always extends their return.

I go to an independent tax preparer in Burlington.

What? Your taxes would take 10 minutes to do.

Do my own. This year I have to buy software, since I can no longer use my firm's program. I'll actually have to pay to file too. :irked:

We use a friend of ours who is a CPA with his own business. Does great work!

Old school. Nothing complicated, do them myself.

You're a fan of taxes, if I remember right.

Turbo Tax online. It's really simple and cheaper than paying someone to do them.

Fan? They're not hard to so for 80% of filers. I do all of the returns for the family other than my oldest child.

No doubt. My parents and siblings always pay me to do theirs as well as worry about trying to explain basic events/transactions to me. I try to explain it literally takes me 10 minutes a piece, but they still worry about it to no end. :lol2:

That's not true for everyone. I've paid less when having mine prepared by someone as opposed to Turbo Tax. I always hated the price Turbo Tax would say it costs and how much it actually cost after you finished on Turbo Tax. I'd much rather pay someone else to do it if the cost is the same or less.
