Survivor: World's Apart

Merger is going to make things even more interesting. It has been a really good season so far.

I wish that the merger was one week later because I think Rodney would have reeked havoc in their tribe after that Tribal Council. Now that they have a merger, I don't think he'll do that as much.

Survivor tonight. Looks like they are having their final merge, which seems sort of early, but maybe the producers realized the teams were just too physically lopsided.

I wonder of hidden idols will start coming into play again, seems like they haven't been discussed much.

I am trying to remember... the hidden idols are held by Jen and Carolyn?

I couldn't remember either. I am pretty sure Carolyn has one. I think Jen might as well.

I thought there was a third in play since they were on three different tribes but can't remember.

I was thinking Joe might have one but it never came up last week when he was a possible target. Is there a third one in play?

They definitely put one at each camp but I'm struggling to remember if every one of them has been found.

I have only seen Jenn find one. Did not know that Carolyn had one as well.

Carolyn found it week 1. I really thought that it might come out at the first tribal. She was dumb and told Tyler about it. I think that will be a factor at some point otherwise the producers wouldn't have shown it. I don't think Jenn has told anyone she has hers.

Great episode. Loved the looks on the blue collar aces when the idol was played. Sad to see Kelly go though, I liked her.

Now that Kelly is gone I officially don't like any of the Blue Collar which, this is a great time for some quick thoughts on who is left.

Carolyn - very smart player and seems to be well liked among the tribes. Also, she has the build that will serve her well for a lot of the "endurance-style" challenges that come once the merge happens. Along with the Jenn/Hali/Joe alliance the Carolyn/Tyler alliance are the most powerful ones left. A definite threat to win.

Dan - a moron, slightly misogynistic, and very unlikable. He may go to the finals if Blue Collar is able to recover but it will be as a "definite person I can beat". No threat whatsoever to win.

Hali - it took me a second to put a name to a face as a refer to her as "Jenn's friend". Doesn't really stand out for me one way or the other but I don't see her making a move against Jenn and if she goes to the finals it will be with her --- who I feel she has zero chance to beat.

Jenn - she is at worst my third favorite person left. Always has a good interview and the more I see of her the more I like. She gives off a "Cali surfer girl vibe" but I think it hides an incredibly intelligent woman. That was a big-time move last night but it will still take some maneuvering to get the numbers. A core of alliance with her, Joe, and Hali is very powerful and I definitely feel they can get it done. The big question will be, does she realize she probably has to cut Joe out at some point to lock up a victory. I can see a move of pulling along Shirin/Sierra and cutting Joe out as something she tries. Definite threat to win.

Joe - my favorite player left. Smart, well-liked, and a beast in challenges both physical and mental. His major problem is he has already gotten that "major threat" label and there are several very smart players on this season with enough awareness to keep him around. In a different season I think we could have saw a truly dominant performance from him where he runs through his competitors. To get through the next few episodes he will have to form an alliance that involves Jenn/Hali -- the issue will be if he can come out at the end of that. I'm not sure he can. But he is strong enough in challenges I could see a Ozzyesque run of challenge domination of him that gets him at final tribal.

Mike/Rodney - I'm grouping these two together because I don't have much to say about either one of them. Both think they are A LOT smarter and A LOT better at this game than they actually are. Everything I said about Dan multiple by 10 with these two. If they are able to keep Blue Collar together I can see one of them becoming the least-likable winner in Survivor history. Because Blue Collar still has the numbers and one of these two will probably be the "face" of that alliance I have to label either a threat to win.

Sierra - I think Sierra might have some play in her we haven't saw but so far she just appears to be getting a "victim edit". She seems a little iffy on Blue Collar so I can see her flipping, but no matter what she appears to be at the bottom of every alliance she could get in. Very little threat to win.

Shirin - Let's just be honest, she is nuts. Extremely unpredictable but I don't get the feeling she is well-liked or respected among her tribal peers. I can see her being the third cog in some alliance for sure though. But I can't imagine a scenario where she wins.

Tyler - smart, easily liked, and very perceptive. I will be curious to see how he and Carolyn break going forward. If he can get through the next few episodes he is one of the favorites to win.

Will - I don't think Will made a good move at all last night. At this point he is on the bottom of both of the two large alliances without much hopes of going away. He might stick around as he seems to be ZERO threat to win any challenge but no way can he make a compelling enough case to win.

It's Survivor and a lot can happen but as of now I'm rooting for someone out of Tyler/Carolyn/Joe/Jenn to win.

Will is still wondering why he was told to write Hali's name down when no one else did. Once he figures it out, he's not going to like the blue collar tribe very much anymore.

I'm rooting for Joe and Jenn. Mike, Dan and Rodney can fall off a cliff for all I care. No love for any of them.

I feel like it was one of the few times that it was used and the player actually needed it and/or the majority of people didn't see it coming. Awesome play by Jenn.

Loved that show last night. I wanted Joe to win immunity and I was hoping Jenn would pull that idol out. Beautiful. There will be major scrambling next week. Scrambling for the new hidden idol. Scrambling for alliances. Scrambling should be in the title of next week's episode. :taz:
