Maybe he just "Mis-spoke" but Imagine if Romney, Paul, Bush, Palin, Rubio, Christie or any other Republican had said the exact same thing the President just said...the internet would explode!!! B-B-Fan would have already typed 300 pages.
January 25, 201511 yr Huh? Saying it is a choice is now bad? Am I missing something? Depends on whether there's a "D" or an "R" after your name, I guess.
January 25, 201511 yr Is "lifestyle choice" the phrase in question? If so, open to interpretation, IMHO. And for the record, I don't think that homosexuality is a choice. Same-sex couples living together/marrying. That;s obviously a choice.

Same-sex couples living together/marrying. That;s obviously a choice. I've always thought that the controversial thing to say is that people are born homosexual.
January 25, 201511 yr I've always thought that the controversial thing to say is that people are born homosexual. That, also, depends on the audience you're saying it to.
January 25, 201511 yr That, also, depends on the audience you're saying it to. No argument there. It just seems like most people had vitriol when is was suggested people were born homosexual as opposed to saying it is a choice. I didn't know the climate had shifted to saying it is a choice is taboo.
January 25, 201511 yr I've always thought that the controversial thing to say is that people are born homosexual. See, I've been under the impression that was the accepted version. I need a scorecard.

I didn't know the climate had shifted to saying it is a choice is taboo. It has ALWAYS been taboo to the Gay/Lesbian community to say that it was a choice. Seeing how that community overwhelmingly supported the President's election, I would think that they would be yelling and screaming at the top of their lungs. I'll guarantee that if a leading Republican had said this there would be a lot more outrage, even if they did mis-speak as I assume the President did.
January 25, 201511 yr Author I've always thought that the controversial thing to say is that people are born homosexual. You need to read your DNC talking points more often :lol2:

Same-sex couples living together/marrying. That;s obviously a choice. Was asked about Same-Sex Marriage and then commented about people's life style choice. Nothing about Life Style was said leading to his answer.
January 25, 201511 yr Author See, I've been under the impression that was the accepted version. I need a scorecard. Scorecard Gay/Lesbian Community believes almost 100% they are Born that way...to say otherwise is an insult Majority of Liberals (but not all), say (at least) that they feel the same way...IMO to curry their vote Majority of Conservatives (but not all), say it is conditioning while growing up or a choice...IMO to curry the Christian vote.

I just now noticed the thread, so give me a few minutes and I'll get back with you.

How about a condensed version just on what the President said first before venturing into which is correct. I know from the past that you feel that "Born that way" is the correct answer.
