February 26, 201511 yr It is. Great food in a small place, with a small menu. But what they do offer is superb, the people that run it are great too. They put the local big name Mexican places to shame. At times I wish they had a bigger menu, but they dont have the facilities for that. Gotta give them credit for sticking with what works. They have good food and have the making for a good atmosphere with their wrestling memorabilia. If they would get a larger building downtown they would thrive.
February 26, 201511 yr Suplex is outstanding. If they added a few more menu items and had a better location, the place would do tons of business in Ashland. I would like to see them grow into a larger facility and menu at some point. But at this point in time, I understand why they have a small menu. They just don't have room for much more unless they sacrifice quality for quantity. I would love to see them find a full size location that could enable them to open up their menu.

February 28, 201511 yr Hey JD . Could you see if anyone in Ashland Huntington is getting the UFC fight tonight None that I know of. Licensing fees are getting expensive for those type of events.
April 3, 201511 yr Annie's Southern BBQ is a new restaurant in Ashland. I tried a piece of their BBQ chicken and a piece of their fried chicken, with potato salad today. If you like true southern cooking, you have to try it. The chicken was excellent, I like my homemade potato salad better, but that's not a knock on theirs. Their potato salad is the best I've had from a deli or restaurant. Other items on the menu are smoked ribs, pulled pork, brisket, all types of sandwiches and sides. They also have a deli with fresh cold cut meats and cheeses. Its located on the convienince store side of Carter Avenue Beverage center, which is at the corner of 25th and Carter for those not familiar with the area.
June 3, 201511 yr Scratch the chimney corner cafe off the list. As of today it is now closed. Its a shame as chef Paul had recently revamped the menu and added some excellent seafood choices. The restaurant has changed ownership a few times since I was born but has always been a staple in the Ashland community and has always been consistently the same. I doubt it will sit empty for long, but from what I hear, it may become a completely different style of restaurant.
June 4, 201511 yr I have always felt that building and location was the perfect place for a "nice" Italian Rocco's type of restaurant.
June 4, 201511 yr I have always felt that building and location was the perfect place for a "nice" Italian Rocco's type of restaurant. Yeah that would be nice. Unfortunately I believe the building owner may be looking in the direction of a sports bar type tenant. I'm all for a nice sports bar in Ashland, I just wish it wouldn't be in that building. The chimney corner has remained the same since I've been alive and I believe it first opened back in the 1930's. The building is more suited for fine dining as opposed to a sports bar.
June 26, 201511 yr Bellacino's just opened a location in the Russell plaza. Best subs in the tristate hands down, best subs I've ever had period.

June 26, 201511 yr What is your favorite sub from Bellacino's? I like the italian grinder pretty good. I've had the Italian, steak, and seafood so far. All were great, but the Italian was my favorite. I'm gonna have to try the steak Chicago next. Ever had their pizza?

Yeah I tried their pizza once it was ok but nothing special. I will stick to the grinders/subs. I usually just get the 9 inch sub. 18 is too much
June 27, 201511 yr Yeah I tried their pizza once it was ok but nothing special. I will stick to the grinders/subs. I usually just get the 9 inch sub. 18 is too much I haven't tried the pizza, pasta or wings yet. The grinders I sampled were excellent though, even the leftovers I had when I got home from work.
