1. Russell - With Vanhoose, Blair, and Gill all coming back, they have a good shot of getting back to Rupp.

2. Ashland - Another school that has their 3 best players coming back. Look for Bonner to step up at the C. The region will come down to them and Russell IMO.

3. Elliot - The Faulkner twins and Fergouson all coming back to the 16th region runner ups: They will need one more year to lead their school to Rupp.

4. Rowan - Have some talent coming back but them losing Daniel will hurt them alot.

5. Greenup - Have a good senior class coming up, plus they beat the 2006 region champions 3 times.

In my opinion, this is underrating Rose Hill. They will be one of the top teams in the Region next year.

 

I like your top 5, Goliath, but I think you could put Rose Hill anywhere in that mix, and they will hold their own.

If you check Rose Hill's schedule for the coming year you might notice the School of David does not appear 3 times. Not that I'm bashing RH for playing School of David 3 times this past season. It was a good move to try to gain confidence for the young group. They are just simply another year away from making noise in the region-maybe 2.

If you check Rose Hill's schedule for the coming year you might notice the School of David does not appear 3 times. Not that I'm bashing RH for playing School of David 3 times this past season. It was a good move to try to gain confidence for the young group. They are just simply another year away from making noise in the region-maybe 2.

There aren't many that have a better grip on 16th Region teams than the Duckster (okay - Nets, Cubster, TBF, Goliath, Shooterx3, Blue Blazer, Red Blazer, UKNetsfan, Gold Sunrise, Incognito, WoodyJr, Scooterbob, RickyP, GodIsATomcat, Onetoya, RedBlood, LionKing, and maybe 30 or 40 others - but that's it), and I'll have to say that you are closer to it than I am. Mind you, I'm not saying that Rose Hill is the team to beat next year, but that they will be a lot stronger than many will expect. I honestly think that they will hold their own with many of the "powers" in the 16th, and may well pull the odd upset. I'm saying that when it happens, it won't be as big an "upset" as many will think it is.

They are all 3 good athletes, but their not basketball players. I've watched them play. They are very good athletes but not basketball players. Well they can be placed at 5th ranking if that will make ya feel better. This is a real weak Ashland team in a long time. A loss of a 6-8 player really hurt this team and they are always able to produce a 6-8 center. Ashland is going through a rocky road right now. They have great tradition but were are discussing about the current team.

 

pg- you lost all credibility on this statement, to say Wilcox, Mcdavid and Thomas are not basketball players? Thats about like saying the Faulkners dont really enjoy playing basketball that much. Ashland is just about two players short of getting to the top next year, but those three are very good basketball players, period.:ylsuper:

 

and Duckster, I know with your war injuries you dont get out much, but you can take this to the bank, Morehead will not beat Florida, but Rose Hill will be a top 5 team in the region next year (if everyone returns) and maybe higher.

They have more total talent than any team in the region, its just a little young, but they have a three year run coming up, mark it down. The Euton/Jackson era is just one year away
