I haven't been to a boys All A game in over 10 years. However I feel like the tournament usually were held at decent size gyms with seating on both sides. So I am surprised to see the All A being held at Holy Cross this year. I thought it would be held at a place that sat more people. Unless the attendance hasn't been good for the All A lately.

It was at Beechwood a few years ago which is about the same if not smaller than HC. It has also been at Villa which also only has seating on one side

It used to be on a vote. Now it's on a rotation. Usually the same teams volunteered to host, and the votes went to the Newport a lot as one of the bigger gym or Dayton because of tradition (and a similarly big gym).

 

I think it was at Dayton in 2000 but I could be wrong.

My guess would be because HC was initially scheduled to play at Bellevue when they are hosting games on their site.

All A Randoms:

Holy Cross is doing a fine job of hosting the All A.

 

Really wish I could have heard the announcer. I don't know if he was too close to the mic or what. Could not hear who made the fouls or how many fouls, etc. The volume was fine, but the delivery was very muffled. I was not alone. Others around me could not hear/understand either.

 

Have to comment on the Senior banners. At my school, we have to make sure that the girls and boys senior banners are all the same size because of Title 9 issues, (even though the parents pay for the banners, NOT the school.)

My impression at Holy Cross is that the Indians really, really love their senior girls. I mean, a lot. And they kinda like their senior boys.
