I don't think either team has ever put anymore than 50 on the board against WHHS. Pretty bold statement this early in the off season. But it will be funny to see you pull your foot out of your mouth! :ylsuper:

No they didn't do this last year, they named Engstrand before track season started. Word is, is that they are done with the interviews and are looking to name him soon. Hopefully you all will know some thing next week!

 

Yes they did drag there feet last year as the previous coach left before Christmas, and they did not hire a coach until after B-ball season was over. They interviewed 2 or 3 times.

Actually they interviewed about 6-7 different coaches last year, trying to find the right guy. You are correct at saying that Mooney stated that he was leaving at Christmas break, however, they had a coached hired before track season started, which I believe is only about a month and a half window. Don't think that that is dragging feet, since you have to have the job posted for at least 30 days before you can name any one!

True they usually let the freshman play the last 2 quarters.

Track season can start Feb.15th and they had no coach then. And I guess they should have tried harder to find the "right guy" Maybe they will find the "right guy" this time or next time etc.

Any new rumors on who the new coach is going to be?

Don Miller is the New Coach at Western Hills. Coach Miller coached at Dunbar and Woodfrod County. Good young Coach I think is a good hire. Good Luck Coach Miller and to the kids at WHHS. They need someone that is going to give them stability.

As for the feild house at FCHS it was built from insurance money from one that burnt down several years ago and is used by all sports.

Not just insurance money. Their were many in kind contributions in services as well as private contributions that helped construct the field house. As a matter of fact the field house prior to what is currently in existence was basically a portable building.

It doesnt matter Western Hills will always be Western Hills. meaning they will never do anything to benefit kids when it comes to athletics.

Get somebody on site based council that will stand up for the athletic programs, the coaches, and the kids.

The point is neither school gets the support for athletics in general from the BOE. That's why no one wants to stay in Frankfort. Any hard work or improvement is never acknowledged or rewarded. The BOE expects the boosters to foot the bill for most everything athletically and most wind up doing it. Until their are some adminsitrators that have a clue as to how to manage athletics this will become or remain a common theme.

 

The problem is people like you need to quit complaining and being problem identifiers.

 

What you should do is step up and run for the board of education or support and promote a candidate that will step up. Obviously the current superitendent is preoccuppied with just trying to stay employed as he has many personal problems that have been well documented in the media. The current board is weak as well as the superintendent.

 

You should step up!!!!!!!

 

You might also promote raising taxes in order that there be more money for the Franklin County School System for both athletics and academics. And by the way you could also be the promoter for all the local athletic events in order to get more people paying gate money wich is a major revenue source for all sports in the Franklin County School System.

 

Oh and by the way you could also help organize youth sports programs AAU teams. Don't leave out your middle school feeders, they need to be strong as well in order to be consistently competetive.

 

Maybe that is too much for you. It is probably easier to just be critical and complain.
