If Brossart shows up in full, Augusta doesn't stand a chance - no matter how great they play. If Brossart is sloppy and not focused, it will be a much closer game with the Panthers having a shot to win.

Starting at 10 minutes prior to tip-off, which could be later than the advertised 7:45pm start time, with Girls championship festivities following their game.

TBH I dont see this game being being more tha 7-10 pts eithier way. Whom ever wins it will be close throughout. Not saying runs may push the lead out a bit but nothing eithier team wont be able to manage. I think Augusta first two games being close contest only benifits them in this one. Battle tested throughout the entire tournament while Brossart getting blow out wins also is nice so you can rest your starters. Each has its pros and cons. Ive been fortunate enough to see every game in this years tournament and with that said I think it will be alot closer than most seem to in this thread if I am wrong i will take my portion of the crow to be served and like it. :thumb:

I will say this if Brossart wants to win this game and I know they do Hackworth cant just sit on the perimeter and shoot jump shots like he has for most of the tourament. He is a great shooter but i dont think Augusta will give that shot all night, if they do then it could be a long night for A-town. And if Augusta wants to win like I know they do then a repeat preformance from theit semifinal game vs. Paris will be a must. Coach Hinson has praised his teams defense all season making it a key point of focus in the preseason. They are a good defensive team and they will need that type of effort in this one.

Im just glad I get to watch this one. Dosent get much better than this in January. :thumb:

The Mustangs go for their thirteenth and Augusta goes for their first. I think I know who everyone outside of Alexandria (and some in Alexandria) are rooting for.

Despite the fact that we have won 11 out of the past 12 it is always with different players and different team makeups. This year we have Jon Zink, Gabe Roberts, Jackson Crawford, Jacob Zai, Blake Saunders, Justin Rolf, Logan Schultz, Dylan Geiman, Joey Hickman and other juniors and sophomores who are going for their first 10th Region "A" Title. The only member of our team is is going for a repeat is Spencer Hackworth, who started with the 2014 champs. Believe me, if we cut down the nets (again) it will be no ho-hum matter. It will be as big to them as it will be for the Panther players should they get the job done.

My point is that it never gets old, and we do embrace the success that we have had in this tournament. With that said there is NOBODY who wants to win one more than Augusta Coach Jason Hinson. He fully realizes what he is up against and should be beat the Mustangs will have truly earned his first-ever, after knocking off Paris and then the defending champs.

If Coach Hinson and his troops are capable of getting the job done, I will feel very badly for the aforementioned Mustangs, but will be thrilled for Coach Hinson, his Panthers, and the town of Augusta!!!

I recall hearing Coach Hinson say in a preseason interview that he had his sights set on a All "A" Title. It seems like, when he sets a goal(see last 2 district tourneys), he has a knack to successfully achieve it.

Seeing a Brossart plug up above I can't help but shamelessly promote the Augusta broadcasting network. I will be on the air about 10 minutes prior to the start of the game. Slated start time is 7:45 but as you know with a game before ours it could be pushed back. Should be a great game so if you can't make it, listen to one or the other!!

Nothing wrong with promoting your broadcast. I do it all the time. :thumb:

I've posted both the Augusta and Bracken County broadcast links on the homepage of our BMustangs website, and did the same for the semi-finals. You both had a bunch of BRossart listeners tuned in.

Go Panthers! These guys are winners with me no matter the outcome although I think the stars are aligned for us this year.

Thanks Mustang. Thats great to hear!! We appreciate the support!!

4 keys to an Augusta win.

1). Owens Crawford that might be the best shutdown guard in 10th will have to stay out of foul trouble guarding Hackworth.

2). Maddox will have to be on target with 3's.

3). Snapp will have to pound the boards and avoid the temptation of staying outside.

4). Panthers must continue stellar free throw shooting.

If they do all of these things, Panthers by 3. If they fail in any, Mustangs win another.
