Rose Hill's 06-07 schedule

Featured Replies

That is certainly some post - especially for someone that doesn't want to "fuel more Ashland/Rose Hill animosity".

I wonder just how venomous it would have been, had you actually been trying to cause hard feelings between the two schools?

this started out as a April fool day joke but it didn't take long for it to get ugly real fast I'm sorry that had to happen. Nobody from Ashland said anything to deserve this outburst about our program and what you don't like about us . I hope that the younger childen in our programs can overlook the adults who speak out with so much hate in the words we read. i say this to both parties involved not just one of them.

On this fine April Fool's Day it is, indeed, good to see that the blood is still flowing among our maroon-clad neighbors. Lighten up boys. Haven't you heard the old adage that if one seems to overreact to the statements of others it tends to add validity to the statements that caused the overreaction? I didn't really attack the foundation of your basic beliefs nor did I burn your trophy case. I merely disagreed with your oft-repeated rationalizations. And, if I must say so myself, I did so without being nasty.

As I said in my first post in this "tongue in cheek" thread, Rose Hill does not need Ashland and Ashland does not need Rose Hill. I continue to advocate that each refrain from association with the other. Nevertheless, at the risk of causing more venom, I must reinterate that I believe that Ashland's alleged "killer schedule" routine was overused by its advocates. I feel sure others agree.

Folks, why is anyone surprised by what this has turned into?

I wasn't on this site years ago so I don't know the history between certain groups or certain people but the paranoia and antagonistic remarks that 1 poster throws at Ashland in every thread Ive seen (even when Ashland is in no way a part of the topic, nor been mentioned) seems bizarre.

I don't know what happened to cause this person to behave like this. If the remark is not blatent, they are very subtle or back handed. When a poster openly states their "side" should be aggressive, etc. and invariably turns most every thread into bomb throwing, the people in charge ought to warn or suspend that person.

Theres a difference between a younger, more immature person that is just over enthusiatic about supporting their school and a person who is articulate, aware, experienced, yet just has a mean tone to most all of their many posts.

The worst part of it is that person begins to be representative of all supporters of that school - but I know too many high quality nice people who are great fans there, yet don't have a nasty undertone all the time

Well, in the interest of fairplay, I reread my post number 23. You know what? All the statements were, I believe, factual. Otherwise, I would think those offended would spend their energy rebutting them rather than crying "foul".

I realize that I don't make too many friends among the maroon people but I don't recall making any personal attacks. When statements are posted and the response is personal attack rather that rebuttal I must assume that there is a factual basis for the statements. Nonetheless, no harm is meant. Merely brisk debate. If you don't like what is said, effectively rebut it without personal attacks.

My post was a factual observation

I dont know what would be worse; a person doing things on purpose or not realizing the way they are

Can we get back on topic. We all know this thread will be shut down soon if these types of comments continue, even though the fire was started by an administrator. Even though the schedule is tougher than last year, I don't think it is that hard. I think the Hill will have a winning season and be ready for tournament time. Good luck guys

We need to get back on topic. Also let me post his reminder:

4. No school-specific recruiting comments or allegations of KHSAA rules violations by any school, coach, or player are allowed. No talking about where any player lives, has lived, or where they are from in a recruiting context. This is not the place to report KHSAA violations. Feel free to contact http://www.khsaa.org to report such violations, but do not discuss violations here.
