Knights
Walker Wood a class of 2017 Quarterback from Lexington Lafayette received an offer from the University of Louisville today. Kid is special passed for 1800 yards and 18 tds while rushing for 1093 yards and 18 tds as well. What's crazy to me is now this past season Lafayette had 5 guys with Division 1 offers and didn't make it out of the 2nd round. 2014 Sophomore Year Highlights - Walker Wood highlights
kypride
Athletic potential doesn't equal wins in HS football. It never has. PROGRAMS win in round 3-4-

Voice of Reason
In 6A, you face good teams in round 2. Other 6A teams that lost in the second round this past season ... Manual, Male, Bryan Station, Scott County.
golden eagle
They should be winning more games with that much talent. We are in Kentucky not Georgia
kypride
They lost to Simon Kenton who has a program with a coach who has been there 20+ years and took them to the finals, platoon, have a feeder system, have above average schemes. Versus Lafayette who has a 2nd year coach, very few if any coaches in the building, last won on a super high level in the 70's and no direct feeder. tcjkbt
An article said he was 6', 180. Is he real fast? Of course, he is likely to grow.
Beach Bumm
Coach at Lafayette has been coaching 15 or so years. Majority has been at Lafayette as a D- coordinator and as far as the no direct feeder. Their main feeder Clark Middle has won Lexington city title back to back and the other one is Lexington Magnet School has won several as well. So disagree with the years of experience at coaching nor the feeder school system. And I don't know why they could not advance further in the last 2 season with all those D-1 signee or commit. kypride
How do you know Marksberry wasn't an assistant for 15 years before becoming head coach? How many coaches does he have in the building vs how many they have at Lafayette? How good has Simon Kentons feeder been? Go find out how much control Lafayette has over the feeder, and how few games they play and how many stupid rules they follow. Then check in with the Fayette AD and ask him about practice limitations and off season limitations. What is the reason they've lost? Please go tell Lafayettes coach he has everything in place that the program he lost to has and therefore its his fault. Do that in person if you can. kypride
You all take the most talented public school in Lexington every year and I''l take the field. I will have won every year since what, 1980? Programs are built on more than athletes.

Ahhh only contradicting on what you said about inexperience coach and no direct feeder. Right? Any mentioned on my part that it was the coaches fault? Am I right about the coach being there at Lafayette for that many years? How about the feeder? No direct feeder? Your wrong on that part. So with that said, maybe it's not the coaches fault, perhaps players can't play well with each other, even though the talent is there. Obviously is there, with all those D-1 signee/ commit. Beach Bumm
And the feeder school to Lafayette have had numerous success in winning. Coaches in the school, Lafayette has several from what I hear 4-5 and that's plenty.

I''l take this out as far as you want. A. I stated how much experience each head coach has with fact, you are using a word I didn't use and have contradicted nothing. B. There is more than 1 school feeding into Lafayette and some of those kids end up at other schools. No Direct feeder: FACT. C.I'll add winning middle school games takes completely different factors than building a high school program. I'm not surprised a bunch of athletes win middle school games where there is no off season program, massive turnover every year, and a drastically different level of coaching

There's 3 full time people in the building who used to coach at Lafayette that now don't coach or coach at other schools. Who are the teachers at Lafayette that coach at Lafayette?
