Walker Wood Lafayette QB offered by UofL

We may have had a similar argument before. Are you the guy who told me that Lex Cath with 4 non-existent D-1 kids was going to beat Bowling Green?

Coach at Lafayette has been coaching 15 or so years. Majority has been at Lafayette as a D- coordinator and as far as the no direct feeder. Their main feeder Clark Middle has won Lexington city title back to back and the other one is Lexington Magnet School has won several as well. So disagree with the years of experience at coaching nor the feeder school system. And I don't know why they could not advance further in the last 2 season with all those D-1 signee or commit.

D1 football is on the kids physical make up. Speed height size. Then what you do on film is 2nd. I believe you could show up at a camp 6'4 220 run a 4.6 and get an offer and not even be on the varsity team. I think Zeek Pike had offers at QB without throwing one pass.

How do you know Marksberry wasn't an assistant for 15 years before becoming head coach? How many coaches does he have in the building vs how many they have at Lafayette? How good has Simon Kentons feeder been? Go find out how much control Lafayette has over the feeder, and how few games they play and how many stupid rules they follow. Then check in with the Fayette AD and ask him about practice limitations and off season limitations. What is the reason they've lost? Please go tell Lafayettes coach he has everything in place that the program he lost to has and therefore its his fault. Do that in person if you can.

Why would a coach stay in such a hopeless situation?

Every coach in Fayette county is in the same boat. Lexington is a great place to live and the pay is good. You just aren't going to be able to have a Program in the same sense that the good ones in the rest of the state do. Its not college where everyone is willing to move around for a job. (though college mentality is seeping into H.S. now more than ever)

An article said he was 6', 180. Is he real fast? Of course, he is likely to grow.

He could be being recruited as an athlete. I have nothing to back that up besides his athleticism and my own conjecture.

No doubt. He doesn't seem like a Bobby Petrino qb.

They lost to Simon Kenton who has a program with a coach who has been there 20+ years and took them to the finals, platoon, have a feeder system, have above average schemes. Versus Lafayette who has a 2nd year coach, very few if any coaches in the building, last won on a super high level in the 70's and no direct feeder.

you are wrong they were very good in the 80's and have been good in the 2000's.

they have better players than Simon Kenton hands down. It is about jimmies and joe's not X's and O's. So don't be singing the blues for Lafayette they have ballers and a QB that now has D1 offer. Simon Kenton cant touch them when it comes to players!!!!!! Not even close

um...no. I'll define super high level for you. Championship, or top 5 for 3-4 consecutive years.

In the 80's they played for state title and how many teams are super high level? 4 in the state! And Simon Kenton aint super high level so you cant use that excuse for them beating you.

Straw man argument. You're arguing in circles now. I don't think Simon Kenton has anywhere near the athletic talent of Lafayette, they do have more of what wins high school football games though. Take your 6 D-1 offers and call me after the Trinity game next year. Then I'll re-educate you about PROGRAM and how all that works. This attempt didn't sink in.

Dude, I have nothing to do with Lafayette! If you only knew. :lol2:

man I wish I knew has much as you about football. Who in the crap is talking about beating Trinity we are talking about beating teams that have less talent than Lafayette has period cut. No one is talking about why are they not beating Trinity, you have to beat the teams that you have more talent than. And if you don't yes people will ? your coaching ability if it continues to happen.

I'll say it 1 more time. It takes about 10 more things besides athletic potential to win high school football games and it is extra true in 6A. That's English and as clear as I can make it.

so you think the Lexington schools are the only 6A schools that don't have coaches in the building or don't have backing from the admin. Wake up there are only about 15 schools in the state where they do football like it is suppose to be done so quit whining for Lafayette they have a heck of a lot more going for them than most 6A schools. The head football coach at Bowling Green up until about 2 years ago had a full load of math classes and he was winning state titles brother!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is plan English and is a fact!!! And if you check I bet you will find that Lafayette has more big time players, D1 that is than BG.
