Actually there have been at least 9 NKY teams that have won state championships playing at or above their appropriate level. SK is of course not one of them. However, SK could win SC's a lot of years playing in 1 and 2A. I believe it was just a couple years back that Beechwood spanked them one year and should have beat them another.

Did any of those teams wins a state title in 6A? I didn't think so! Put SK in 1A, 2A, 3A, 4A and 5A and they will be playing for a state title every year in December!

Come on now... last year, SK handily lost to Dixie, who got blown out by Trinity. I appreciate your optimism for SK, but they can barely touch the top 5 in 6A. You really think they can hang with Male, Trinity, St. X, etc?

There were many many years where SK could not beat the likes of Dayton, Lloyd, Newport, NCC and many other small schools. They are where they are because of the size of their enrollment and you simply cannot choose to play down a few classes so that you MIGHT win. Give me a year in the last 30 where SK would have won state if not in the largest class.
