Yes, it is Matt Elam.

Didn't Fant and Elam get in a big fight last year or something?

Some people aren't too happy about it....

@Damien_D1Harris: Lol crazy they gave it to him.

@FballIsLife69: They Be Tripping On That Award Though

Absolutely ridiculous responses!! 1st class sportsmanship there!

One more:

@Damien_D1Harris: Lost Mr. Football because of an injury. Sickening.

Agreed.. I love Harris, but he should just accept that he didn't win it and move on. I believe he is the best player in the state, but just like your draft rating, injuries affect awards you win also. That said, he's still a teenager, so let's not beat him to death over a Twitter comment.

Congrats to Mr. Sindelar, will be watching for him at Purdue.

What were Sindelar's stats for the year? Didn't he break the passing record?

I was really referring to Elam chiming in. After his stupid remarks last year, you think he would wise up and mind his own business. I'm sure his coaches will not appreciate them.

Well deserved and who I picked last month. congrats Elijah

After seeing comments like those, they only make me happier that Elam didn't win it last year and Harris didn't win it this year. A classy award has no p,ace going to classless players.

One more thing, did Damien think if he got hurt week 1 and never p,ayed another snap that he should of still got it? People can try and defend these guys saying they are just kids, well I know a lot more "kids" who don't go on social media comp, aiming about the award winners.

This kid will be a star at Purdue!!

Social Media is the downfall of many.

Great job young man and good luck at Purdue...:thumb:

He will need it. The Boilermakers are not close to being relevant in Big Ten football.

You can still be a successful player and person at a school that doesnt play for national championships. From what I understand the kid is already a winner.

As far as social media Damien is tweeting for attention. He knows that he's not coming to Kentucky so these kind of comments are a way to justify going elsewhere. Nothing wrong with selecting a different school, but I do think he saying stuff on social media and in person just for attention. He never wanted to go to Kentucky but he knew that keeping them in the mix it would increase his profile locally. Think about the kids that commit to BBN. They can play on teams that's awful or lose by 40 on a Friday but they still get put on the highlight reel or get an article in the paper. So when you add that with, free basketball tickets and helicopter visits, this is his way of playing the system.
