I think Trinity is much better when they use Spalding. When he gets the ball low,he requires so much attention that teammates are open. He sees the open man well,but for some reason they do not use him enough. He worked his butt off tonight to get the ball,but they decided not to go to him. I was there and could not figure out why?

 

It's because Coach Szabo is a basketball genius and none of us should ever question anything that goes on when Trinity hits the court.

A tale of two halves. If I lived in Lexington, I would have left at intermission. I mentioned in the update thread that Trinity's 15 point halftime lead felt like a 30 point lead.

 

Credit Henderson County, particularly David Simmons. Having watched him play a few times last year, I knew of his talent, but he showed a tenacity tonight in essentially taking the game over late. He has no fear & he carried himself like he knew he was the best player on the floor...and he was.

 

As impressive as Trinity was in the 1st half, that were that unimpressive in the 2nd half. Defensively, the team is as good as they come. But on the offensive end, I'm not sure what it is they're trying to do. Playing through Spalding seems to make the most sense, but that didn't seem to be the consistent game plan. I thought Ramser was the bright spot for the Rocks. He hit some shots, dished out some assists, and played a solid game.

 

Kudos to Henderson County, though. I never dreamed they'd make a comeback like that.

Yes. Yes he did. He asserted his will onto the game. Caught an alley oop dunk to tie it at the end of the 3rd. I wouldn't have believed the comeback if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes.

That alley-oop play was something else. They ran it (and scored, but not on a dunk) to start the 3rd & then to end the 3rd.

Brady Norman was outstanding tonight too. Especially in the 1st half, he made some tough plays. Challenged Spalding a couple of times in the paint & was successful. Also had a two-hand slam in the 1st half.

These two play again the last game of the regular season for both on 2/20, should give one of them a great spark heading into tournament play, both are probably favored in their regions, but both will have formidable opponents to beat in the region as well.

It was carry out only,no seats inside. We ate at "Roosters" and got updates the whole time. I almost needed medication after the game ended! Who would have thought they would come back and win the game.
