Some things you just can't make up. :ohbrother:

Jack Daniels names new son Jim Beam

GRAY, La. -- A man named after whiskey has named his son for bourbon.

Jack Daniels Leathers, 31, of Gray said he and his wife, Lydia Leathers, 23, chose the name well before their marriage.

"On our first date, we were talking about baby names. We thought Jim Beam would be a good idea," he told The Courier.

Jim Beam Leathers was born Nov. 14, turning grandparental pique into tradition.

"My parents decided they wanted to name their son something to make their parents mad," Jack Daniels Leathers said. "And, at the time, my dad was drinking Jack, which he enjoyed. My mom said, 'Why not?'"

Lydia Leathers said, "I've always tried to do stuff out of the ordinary, to do things differently than other people. It's hard to find a name that you like that nobody you know has. It was all Jack's idea. I just went along with it."

Jack Daniels Leathers said growing up with the name was interesting, especially after he enlisted in the Army.

"Nobody believed my name until I showed them my ID," he said. "When I went into the Army, sergeants would yell, 'How much more American can you get than Jack Daniels?' I went through most of my Army career not hearing my last name because people would call me Jack Daniels."

The couple found just the right judge to marry them.

"When Judge Johnny Walker realized that he was marrying Lydia to Jack Daniels, he turned red," said Jack Daniels Leathers.

"We wanted to get in touch with Judge Walker to notify him that Jack Daniels had a son named Jim Beam," he said.

Lydia Leathers said many people don't like their son's name. "We get a lot of flack from other people about it," she said. "At the end of the day, it's our son, and it's what we wanted to do."

They plan to continue the pattern, said Jack Daniels Leathers.

"If we have another child, our second born will be Evan Williams, after the bourbon. If it's a girl, she will be Sherry, like the cooking sherry," he said.

....and we wonder why it's always people with 3 names that turn out to be mass murderers....

I am friends with a guy who named his son Jackson Daniel, and they actually live on Bourbon St.

Speaking of names...I was on the local Detention Centers website and was looking at a list of people currently incarcerated and 20 out of about 200 or so had the middle name of "Lee" several others had "L" for a middle initial so I'd guess some of them are named "Lee" also. I thought that was odd, but I then looked at some other jail sites for comparison and in almost every case "Lee" was the most common Middle Name.

So if you know anyone with the middle name of "Lee" keep an eye on them.

I went to school with a boy named Daniel Boone and he married a girl named Rebecca

Wait until Southern Comfort comes over to visit.

That is an upgrade. Who would want to be named after Tennessee "Urine".
