A crowd throwing bottles brings a danger and possible death to civilians as well as law enforcement, I have no problem with lethal force being used.

Bottles thrown by protestors against police in riot gear is not lethal force. Thankfully the police confronted with this situation recently have better sense than you.

I find it ridiculous for riot police to open fire intuitive a crowd like that. In everyday situations it depends on what is happening.

At the point that protesters exhibit violence, they are no longer protesters, they are criminals, and should be dealt with accordingly, eliminating the threat.

Bottles should not equal bullets. How many serious injuries have you read about during this wave of riots? If the police had opened fire on everyone that broke the law and the something we'd be talking about hundreds of deaths. The last time I looked inciting a riot, failure to disburse and even assault do not carry death sentences.

I agree bullets shouldn't be used in this case. Rubber bullets and tear gas could be used and I have no problem.

 

But asking how many people have been hurt ? Many people have been injured not only police but civilians in these protests/riots.

I've not read of any injuries that showed that the threat level was severe enough for lethal force to be used against the protesters. That was my point.
