December 16, 201411 yr I sat in front of some parents last night that thought they knew it all too when it came to high school basketball. As soon as one lady yelled "over the back", I knew what I was dealing with. It's best to walk away from situations like that; especially when those weren't any of your kids' parents! Let them ream their own coach. You are never going to change any minds or win any friends in a crowd like that. Sorry you had to take the heat last night! This is why when I go to my sons games, or any other youth sporting event I tend to sit somewhere off by myself, away from both teams parents. Listening to idiots parents from both teams gets to the point where I can not enjoy watching the kids having fun playing the game.

I am always away from the flock at the kids games. The only exception is that occasionally I'll sit next to a childhood friend of mine who is now a Priest (a very good bball player) that comes to a few games.
December 16, 201411 yr Big V, as you know when you are a coach you encounter some real "works of art" in some people. Keep doing the great job you are with your kids and let those crazy continue to be crazy....as I am sure they will.

The only exception is that occasionally I'll sit next to a childhood friend of mine who is now a Priest (a very good bball player) that comes to a few games. I bet he can often serve as a good buffer to the crazies as well. Amazing how quickly crazy people remember their manners when a man of the cloth is around.
