Top 5 players each grade level in the state?

Featured Replies

Blair Green has the pedigree, daughter of Elgie Green and Debbie Green (Hoskins). Debbie played at Kentucky back in the day and could definitely play but transferred to Lincoln Memorial where she earned national honors. Blair, with all the other young ladies mentioned here should have bright futures.

Really nice player.

How does Hannah Tubbs from Holmes stack up to the other girls in the state for her class? I know in Ohio at Norwood she was considered the best in Cincy for her class...atleast that's what I have been told. Apologize in advance for not being as "up to date" with girls hoops.

For Seniors I would put Sandra Skinner of GRC in the top 5. She has already signed with VCU.

Hannah Tubbs is going to make a name for herself in NKY and the state as a whole! She is a starting to get back to form after the knee surgery she had this summer and is getting good looks from the outside and has the ability to get a shot against anyone! She isn't having to carry the load like she did at Norwood and will only continue to get more comfortable with her new team. And I'm going to throw Amori Gulley in the mix for her combination of size, speed and athletic ability has taken on a few big time players in Skinner from GRC and Tibbs from Dixie and played great D and held both well below their respective averages!! She is intimidating to say the least but could play a little smarter and tougher and doesn't get nearly the touches in the post she deserves for the hard work she puts in on D. Both members of the 2016 class

This is the player that really impressed me for Holmes. Best player they have.

dg21 - Amori is a nice player but be careful of trying to build her up at the expense of other players. Skinner scored 17 against Holmes and she averaged 18 per game for the season. Tibbs scored 15 and averages 14.2 per game for the season. Looks like both players pretty much got their average in the games with Holmes.

In actual one on one competetion against both girls where she was primary defender Skinner and Tibbs both were held in check by her defense 6 of Tibbs points came while she was on the floor and Skinner was held to free throws while guarded by her! Not building her up by any means and definitely not at the expense of others!! Her defense of the other teams bigs has been stellar this season and that's going to be a huge part of her teams success! !

I disagree. Tubbs is a good player, A great scorer but not the best player on the team IMO. Both Englemon and Stovall can have great impacts on a game without scoring a basket.

Not true. Skinner only had 3 free throws that game. She was 7-10 from the floor for 70% shooting. She had 17 points.

Watch the tape she did not score from the field while guarded by Amori Gulley!

Our smaller defenders struggled a little with her size and athleticism but Skinner struggled with Amori's strength especially when she took her left away from her in the post!!

I'm not proclaiming her to be a a great all round player yer but her defense is worthy of taking notice!! Knock it all you want but it's half of the game. Every one is quick to speak on how many points their child is scoring but it's ok to recognize someone for outstanding defense as well!!! And just a side note this Holmes team has forced over a hundred turnovers in their last three games alone!!

No one has mentioned anyone from Elizabethtown. I think everyone on that team is going to play D1 ball at some point.

hey’ve got four Division-I players on their roster. Sorry I don't remember their names right off. But it you want to see them they are playing in the Tourney at Lexington Catholic this weekend and Mon. and Tues. of next week.
