Final

What a wast of time for both teams.

What a wast of time for both teams.

Disagree. Great first game for both teams to work on things.

Hey Boyle County! I see you!

No contest. Boyle's starters played a little over half the game. Boyie's starting center Colton Elkins didn't play. I think Boyle played 14 players and they all got several minutes. This is going to be a fun team to watch. They really play tough defense and have the ability to score quickly. Tyler, Bell and Elkins could start for anyone, plus they have some other very good role players, Bean being one that deserves mention as well.

Colton Elkins is suspended the first two games of the season after being ejected from the Wayne County/Boyle County game in the region tournament last year.

Chapman Bean is a very talented and experienced player. One of the best defenders on the team and he is capable of scoring 15+ points everytime he hits the court.

3 Rebels had double digit scoring

Jeremiah Bell with 17 pts and 6 rebounds. 36% from the field

Hagen Tyler with 17 pts. He shot 50% from the field.

Bryce Slone is a freshman from the bench and he came in with 11 points and shot 50% from the field.

Dario Delcastillo provided a good game with 7 points and 8 rebounds as smaller sized guard.

This team definitely will battle with Wayne,Lincoln, and the rest of the 12th region. I can't wait to watch some of these games!

I've heard some kids from the team suggest that Dario may be the best rebounder on the team. After watching him last night it'll be interesting to see how many rebounds he averages per game. He has a knack for being where the ball is going to be. As I heard it..."with him on one side of the rim and Colton on the other"..... add in Tyler's rebounding capabilities and Bell's rebounding and athleticism.......whew.......it's going to be a fun year.

I'll also add that this team gets up the floor quickly.

Ummmm...about what I expected the score would be. Thought it might be more in the 70's-30's range. I need to get out and watch Boyle play this year.

Running clock kicked in at 54-19 and by then all of the starters were out. The football players got some good game time to shake some of the rust off also.

Most of the football players looked rusty but it will change over time.

No disrespect to Burgin but it wasn't much competition and not really a good game to judge by. Saying that, the Rebels looked good. The intensity they played with on defense was great to see. Bell really put pressure on the PG. If one of the refs wasn't in another world he would have forced numerous 5 second counts. Bell really pushed the tempo and the offense is at another gear this year with him at the point. Tyler had a solid overall game but was deferring to other teammates most of the 2nd half. Didn't play much after halftime. I thought Dario and Nick Settles both played good. Does seem like Dario has a knack for the ball and he can get some points when needed. This team is going to be fun to watch this year. Bell and Tyler look like they have played together their whole lives. Really found each other on the court.
