Kings of Eastern Kentucky

No point missed.

It is true that Johnson Central has more boys than Belfry. (Johnson Central has 551 boys. Belfry has 331 boys.)

However, your statement that Belfry is King of the East is flawed simply because they have now been to 5 straight state championships.

Belfry has not had to go through Highlands and/or Covington Catholic to get to the promised land each year. This has been true for every season from 2008-2014. The same period of time that Johnson Central has dominated Belfry except for one season. Again, that is a fact. (No bold on my sentence.)

You failed to answer my question. What team from EKY has had more success the past 10 years than Belfry? I'll be waiting on your factual answer.

From 2007-2014, they have met 8 times.

Belfry won in 2007, 2008, and 2012. Johnson Central won in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2013, and 2014.

Therefore, Johnson Central is the better program over the past 8 years.

So you define success on how you've fared against one particular team over whether you've won, or even played in any state championship games?

If you are proclaiming Belfry as King of the East and Johnson Central is 5-3 against them over the previous 8 seasons, then Belfry cannot be proclaimed as King of the East.

Why are you avoiding the question? It's a simple yes or no question. Do you define success as how you fare against on particular team over whether you've won or even played in any state championship games?

When I think of successful EKY programs Belfry is the first program that comes to mind for me.

So, what I'm getting is: If you want to beat Belfry play at Johnson Central. If you want to beat everyone else, play at Belfry. Got it.

Two grandmasters play 8 games of chess to determine who is the better player. They alternate between white and black pieces for each of the 8 games. Player A wins 5 games and Player B wins 3 games.

Player B stands up and proclaims that he is the better of the 2 grandmasters because he has been to championships that Player A has not participated in. Player A's championship runs contained much more formidable challengers; therefore, Player A did not have the same level of success that Player B had in his championship runs.

Is Player B valid in his assumption that he is the better of the two chess players after losing head-to-head to Player A in 5 of 8 games?

By GRC's logic UAB is a better basketball program than UK because they are 3-2 lifetime against Kentucky, with 2 of the 3 wins coming in the NCAA tournament.

Still waiting on your answer.:ohbrother:

Belfry does not have to run the gauntlet of Highlands and Covington Catholic each year.

I feel like you are caught up in semantics.

We were discussing over the past 10 years when Belfry played Johnson Central in football - not college basketball.

I feel like you are caught up in semantics.

No.

Johnson Central is the better program of the 2.
