No, it wasn't. I looked. Someone said it was take a knee time, then someone else asked why they were not. Neither was at the game.

My favorite was the Cov Cath mom screaming at our boys and clucking like a chicken and calling our team a bunch of chickens for takng a knee. You stay classy mom from Park Hills!

Since we're getting varying reports I went back to the broadcast.

 

Kendall ran the ball to the 22 for a first down which forced CCH to take their last timeout. About 1:40 left and CCH out of TOs.

 

Ran a play down to the 8. Took a knee.

 

So they ran one play they didn't need to. While the odds are very long against a fumble it does seem fair to ask what Coach W's thoughts were. Again, maybe he thought they had one more TO.

Because this whole thing is ridiculous. Highlands was not trying to run score up. Haven't all year. They simply ran plays till CCH was out of timeouts. Then, they did the smart thing which is kneel it. Then this mom is calling them out for not running more plays. That is dumb. If they were running the score up, they wouldn't have ran 5 running plays in a row up the gut on that drive. Wake up people.

Sounds like a lot to do about nothing. HHS ran one more play than they needed to. Probably just some confusion and wanted to make sure they could run the clock out. Nothing to see here.
