Paintsville has always been a great competitive and friendly rivalry. There have been some classic slobber knockers in the past and I look for another classic this Friday night. I will emphatically tell you, win or lose, Raceland is not overlooking Paintsville. It was discussed in the locker room immediately after the Fairview game. I treated some of our guys Saturday morning and they are focused and looking forward to practice and the game plan. Paintsville looked amazing on film. They deserved their win last Friday. Hopefully, their last of the year.

For the record, I do not think Raceland was overlooking Fairview. Sloppy play from having to play Phelps the week before hurt us. In the Phelps game, we did not attempt a rush in the first half and our 1's only ran 10 offensive plays all night. So, I really believe our slow start Friday was from THAT vs overlooking our opponent. Our staff has preached since the Ironton game that we have to prepare each week and focus because we aren't guaranteed the next game.

I'll take Paintsville, I'm thinking the Rams will be looking ahead and like Pikeville get upset.

 

Had it not been for Paintsville laying a beat down on who some thought was the best in the state (I had them at #2), that "might" have been the case.

I feel confident now that the Tigers will have the RAMS Full Attention and Focus.

Well after a few days of gathering information, reading the post from the poster who saw both Paintsville and Pikeville games, and talking to Ram, I'm afraid I'm going to have to go with Paintsville in the upset.

 

Despite what a couple of Rams fans have stated on here, I feel that Raceland will go into the game too confident, and not respect the improvement the Tigers have made this season.

 

If the weather isn't too bad Friday night I plan on attending this game, and eating at least 2 sausage dogs with grilled peppers and onions despite money bags Ram making excuses, and refusing to pick up the tab Friday.

 

Perhaps it's that reason alone that is subconsciously making me go against Raceland in this game. :sssh:

Nothing against the Paintsville upset but Pikeville had some injuries during the game that really hampered them. Rams win 34-6 and practice Turkey Week for second straight year.
