I think the top 7 teams are spot on there maybe some shuffling between 2-7 but they will all be in the region.

I would change up the bottom of the region a little bit.

8. KCD- Very good team just stuck in district with two top 20 teams in the state.

9. Central- If Wells can play will determine a lot for this group

10. Shawnee- Sr. loaded team who won some games on the JV level can it translate

11. Seneca- One of the best players in the region is there anything else to help him out

12. CAL- New coach how will players respond, he did well at Whitefield

13. Atherton- New coach I think they will be better how long will it take

14. Brown- New coach I think they will come up from the bottom group

15. Collegiate- struggled last year but year two in system.

16. St. Francis- If the three freshman stayed they will compete with bottom of region and in all A

We agree. I think there's very little chance those seven aren't in the Seventh Region tournament given their distribution across different districts. The only possibility for me is that perhaps Seneca is better than we all thought before the season starts and they show up and beat Waggener in the 27th semifinals and get in there.

 

On the other hand, I'll be stunned if Shawnee has improved enough to be in contention for that last spot over Central. It'll be a good kind of stunned as they've endured some rough years and it'd be cool to see them have a nice season; I just can't imagine they're in position for that.

You might be right it is hard to change a losing culture. Shawnee has a lot to over come. I thought Seneca would be better than they were last year, if they upset Waggoner that would be huge blow to Waggoner trying to become one of the 7th region elite next year will be the year Waggoner could win the 7th, but needs 20 wins and not to get blown out by Ballard and trinity.

In looking at the bottom of the bottom, I think there may be some surprises. With regard to bottom five teams listed:

 

Brown - The new coach is definitely a plus. However, Brown lost a lot of players. I don't know what they will have to replace what they lost. I think Coach Cissell will improve things, but am not sure how quickly it will happen.

 

Collegiate - Second year under Coach Mucker, but they lost their best player, Bryce Overstreet, to graduation. Overstreet was really good. That will be a big loss. I don't think Collegiate will be as good this year.

 

St. Francis - Only one of the three freshmen from last year's team is still at St. Francis. Also lost 3 seniors and a junior. Will be difficult for the Wyverns to not take a step back under new coach Richard Butcher.

 

Portland Christian - returns now-senior Jacob Ryan, their top scorer from last year. They will play hard.

 

Walden - will be a big surprise, I believe. Not in terms of competing among the top teams in the region, but in terms of being better than their recent past. They have size (Charles Thomas, about 6' 6" I believe) and a quality shooter in Sean Dowling (who is about 6' 4"). I don't think Mike Szabo is losing sleep over Walden yet, but they will be better than they have been lately.

It appears the coaches have a lot more faith in Ballard's ability to instantly make up for the losses of Martin, Snider, and Dow than I do.

 

I definitely think that the returns of Perry and Douglas and the addition of Eaves make them solid... but No. 2 in the state right out of the barn seems like a stretch to me.

Plus the loss of Brandon Berry & Rayshon Robinson who played loads of time last year as well. The questions remains why so many underclassman left the program.
