November 11, 201411 yr Timmons is approaching bust status for me. Has a ton of talent and potential, but hasn't shown much effort. The hands is what kills me. So many drops and a lot of them have led to big time negative plays. All the talent and athletic ability in the world, but has to work on route running and catching the football.

CB 3 Fred Tiller, 6-0, 170, Jr-2L 11 J.D. Harmon, 6-2, 201, So-1L Ryan will be listed #1 on the depth chart again come Louisville game.. Trust me I am the Eye in the sky, and i know.
November 12, 201411 yr ^Uh, UK defense has two cb's that start, just like all other defenses, Tiller and Harmon start. I am rooting for RT and wish him all the best! I just was pointing out how you viewed the same situation for the two players completely the opposite.

Kentucky has faith in No. 1 Despite demotion, Timmons will still see a lot of time on the field By Brian Rickerd Published: November 12, 2014 1:35PM LEXINGTON — UK offensive coordinator Neal Brown said Tuesday that he hasn’t lost faith in wide receiver Ryan Timmons, though Timmons may have temporarily lost a touch of faith in himself. This comes some 24 hours after UK announced that Timmons, a sophomore from Franklin County, has dropped from first-string wide out to second string on the depth chart heading into Saturday’s game at Tennessee (4 p.m. on the SEC Network). “I’ve got 100 percent faith in him,” Brown said of Timmons. “He’s lost a little bit of confidence.” Brown said Timmons’ demotion comes due largely to a combination of little things — at least, little relative to the positives Timmons brings to the table, most notably outstanding speed, quickness and competitiveness. “It’s performance based,” Brown said of the demotion, echoing what head coach Mark Stoops said on Monday. “He can play better. He does some things really well. When the ball is in his hands, he’s probably our most elusive guy — he and (Stanley) Boom (Williams). He’s just got to be more consistent. He’s got to catch the ball. He’s had some big drops.” Brown said Timmons also needs to be more “detail oriented” in his route running. “That and catching the ball more consistently are the two main things,” Brown said. Brown said Timmons could still play a prominent role Saturday at Tennessee and on Nov. 29 in Kentucky’s regular-season closer at Louisville. In fact, Brown said that even at this moment, on second string, Timmons is a much better player than he was last year as a freshman. “He’s a LOT better,” Brown said. “You can click on the video from him from last year. He’s playing harder than he was even earlier in the year, so that’s coming along. He has the ability to be a great player. He just has to be more consistent.” Sense a theme? “He understands that,” Brown added. “And I think when he gets the opportunities this week, he’ll make the most of them.” Timmons leads the UK wide receivers with 41 catches, for 508 yards, with averages of 12.4 yards per catch and 50.8 yards per game. He has 11 receptions more than any other Kentucky reciever. Timmons was not available for comment on Tuesday. He has been replaced on the first team by junior walk-on Joey Herrick. When asked what Herrick brings to the table, Brown said: “He plays the game the right way. He plays hard, he plays physical and he does exactly what he’s coached to do, repeatedly. He blocks. He aligns correctly all the time and he gives us some stability there. That’s why he’s played a lot of meaningful snaps.” The Wildcats bring a four-game losing skid into the Tennessee game, with a record of 5-5 overall and 2-5 in the Southeastern Conference. Brunouno November 12, 2014 2:39PM USER COMMENT: I still contend that Ryan Timmons' "performance based" problems are not all of his own making...but that he shares with QB1 Patrick Towles in the timing and accuracy of those passes. It seems that Towles is a bit out of sync with his receivers of late, making them wait on the long bombs so that the defense catches up or throwing inaccurately so that the receiver has to fight with the defender for the jump ball. Specifically, on the pass that Timmon's tipped with his right hand on a simple slant pattern, Towles threw it before Timmons was expecting it just after he had cut to the inside...and he threw it really hard. How was Timmons supposed to catch that bullet? Timmons strength is when he is thrown the ball in the open where he can use his dynamic speed and moves to make people miss, not running tight end slants surrounded by linebackers.
