We hear about all of the use of EOs from President Obama. That usually gets a response of just how much worse President Bush's use of EOs were. Obama has had 193 EOs thus far with two years to go. W had 291 in his eight years. Go back one more president and Clinton had 364 in his eight years. Reagan had 381 in his two terms and Carter had 320 in one term. Now, I realize President Obama could pass any of the others with two years to go, but all of these presidents are EO lightweights when compared to some of the presidents throughout our history.

 

The worst offender of executive orders is FDR. He had a staggering 3,522 EOs in 12.12 years in office. That's a whopping 290.59 average EO per year!

 

Woodrow Wilson had 1,803 in eight years, Calvin Coolidge had 1,203 in less than six years in office, Theodore Roosevelt had 1,081 in just under seven and a half years, Harry S. Truman had 907 in just under 8 years and Taft had 724 in only four years.

 

By contrast George Washington had 8 in 7.85 years. John Adams, James Madison and James Monroe only had 1 each. Madison and Monroe both served two terms.

I'm sure many of you were already aware of this, but for those that weren't I thought I'd give the number of executive orders by president since Washington. Just thought it was interesting.

The level of importance to the american public in what changes are made to public policy are worthy of taking into consideration. Very true. Probably for good reasons. EOs aren't always a bad thing.

So, out of curiosity, had President Obama indicated he will use EO on Immigration Policy?

He said that whatever action he takes will take time, but the very minute that they pass immigration reform he will sign it and that it will supersede any action he took.

So....no intention on his part to enact legislation not passed by the Senate and House?

An EO that would be 'superseded' by a law is not really an EO. Its a usurpation.

What the Dems have also been totally silent about is that there have been several bills that have passed the house that deal first and foremost with securing thee border. Harry Reid has not let them be voted on. Why not? Maybe those would have passed as well and then Obama would have something to sign.

Yesterday our great leader goes to China and executively decides that he will implement large CO2 emission cuts while allowing g China to make no changes . He will avoid action thru congress and will implement the rules thru the EpA . Everyone's electric bill will rise , coAl Jobs are destroyed. We lose jobs , China laughs .
