Dems distanced themselves from him because you have to take the bad with the good. You can't live off the good things, but disown the bad things. Obama has done some good and some bad. There is also a lot of spin going on with both sides.

If you think people ran from the President this year, wait until the Dems start running for President. He'll need extra security to keep every Democratic Tour Bus from backing over him.

 

Hillary, Biden and who ever else runs for POTUS will put as much space between them and the President as possible!

PP92, if Obama has had such a great presidency why did most of the Dems distance themselves from him and his policies? Why was there a referendum on him Tuesday? Why is Harry Reid now the Minority Leader? If the president was doing such a stellar job, the Dems would have been the ones riding a wave November 4th, instead it was the Republicans.

I think a split government is the best government, but it must be President as one party and the other party in control of both the house and the Senate. If forces everyone to come to the middle, which is where most Americans live.

I agree. My frustration lies with the lies that will come from the President and the Republicans when things stay muddy. Then it comes down to who people want to believe and nothing still gets accomplished. Or so it seems anyways.

He's done a lousy job. If they would have run on Obama's accomplishments, it would have been a bigger thumping.

It's all relative. Believe it or not there are people who like Obama and campaigns are full of mistruths and optical illusions. I don't have a problem with Obama's presidency nor do I think he's done a lousy job. I think the entire goverment has done a lousy job and Obama is the fall guy because he is the POTUS. Obama is despised in this state so I know this is a pointless conversation for 98% of you. All I am saying is that trying a strategy of taking his good and pounding that home to everyone and focusing on more good to come would have been a whole lot better than distancing themselves from the guy they stood behind for 6 years until they woke up one morning and figured they couldn't win their own election if they stood behind him anymore. Now they are losers sitting at home trying to figure out what to do next.

If I run for union President next April and the guy running for Vice President runs as well I'm not going to bring up things we failed at. I'm going to remind people of everything we got right.

Of course there are people that like Obama, that's why he got elected twice. They are waning however and there is good reason for that. Clinton was despised by a lot in this state. In fact I, for one, probably had more disdain for Clinton than Obama because Clinton directly cost me financially. The difference between Clinton and Obama though is Clinton was a leader and knew how to work with the other side. Obama is inept, pompous and has no clue what leadership is.

 

You do realize that negativity is what Obama ran on from the beginning, right? What Bush did wrong. What Bush got wrong. Bush's failures. Then, after he's elected, Obama continued to point the finger of blame at Bush . Still does. Then he pointed the finger of blame at the GOP. Now that it's being done to him, it doesn't sit well with you? Huh. I guess I'm a bit confused by that.
