November 5, 201411 yr I will now be ordering JJ's for lunch. I didn't end up getting it for lunch yesterday (I had a coworker say "he'd buy if I'd fly" for Penn Station, so the choice was an obvious one). Got it today instead. I went to the store on Hurstbourne, and had the manager ring me up at the register (I'm there enough for lunch that I'm a familiar face to the manager). I asked him what kind of blow-back they had seen from the news story, and he rolled his eyes, but then surprised me by saying that they actually have been seeing bigger tips going to the drivers since the story aired. He said they have taken it to be because people have more of an understanding now of the trouble that the delivery drivers go to to get their food delivered as quickly as possible.
November 5, 201411 yr I live a couple of blocks from the Central Park area and was told that if I wanted delivery I could meet them on a street corner a couple of blocks closer to them.. No thanks. I can't believe they told you that. :lol2:
November 5, 201411 yr I can't believe they told you that. :lol2: They sure did, I just laughed and said no thanks. I found out later that they can't deliver to Kings Daughters Medical Center either, which with around 1500 employees would likely be their largest customer base. KDMC is a block or two outside of their delivery radius also. They do have pretty good subs, but I've had better. I just don't get the whole philosophy of only delivering within a couple of mile radius.
November 5, 201411 yr The Freaky Fast Delivery is stupid anyway... They won't deliver farther than two miles from the store. I would hope you could get a cold sandwich a block away pretty fast. The stores downtown should be riding bikes, not driving. Several of the downtown delivery guys do their runs on bicycles. Depends on the size of the order. It's funny, the huddle up next to the counter and wait for someone to hand them a bag and then WHOOSH they're gone.

Seems like for the short distance they are going scooters or bikes would be preferred. My only question is what do they do during winter?

November 5, 201411 yr Wear warm clothes. I guess.. It can be really hard to ride a bike in the snow though.
