Reactionary sarcasm... agreed and admitted, basic point to ponder... still in the forefront.

 

It's apparent that you've not the tendency towards sarcasm, and got that greatly in check.

 

As I had said in many other posts I'm not concerned here with the various hobbies that people enjoy as that's apparent, but this one specifically intrigues me considering "death" is part of the equation. I've begged that the "various enjoyment affinities" portion not keep penetrating the basic point at hand. It's not exactly in the same camp.

 

And I'll assume that you might be able to deduct that the primal desire to breed eludes me, which is actually something that for me has proved to be a blessing of sorts. I didn't understand as a child why I was this way, but now thank my God everyday that I am. Blessing in disguise for real.

 

If you've not the capacity to analyze any deeper, you're not obliged to. Sure you're always welcome to add your two cents whether or not it adds much worth to the discussion or not. I'm aware that not all humans are capable.

You couldn't be more wrong on my tendency towards sarcasm. Love it, use it daily. However your "sarcasm" in this thread didn't come off that way. Admittedly it's hard to judge it from reading someone's thoughts, tone is everything I guess...it came off in this thread as insulting for lack of a better term. Then you admit yet continued to repeat what you admitted was probably not the best way to go about the thread. Whether it was a way to take thinly veiled shots at those that disagreed with you, I don't know but that's the way it came off.

I am not sure Woodsrider would limit the "breeding" only to propogation but rather satisfying the primal urge, so to speak. Otherwise, in the true good cop, bad cop scenario, you are playing the bad cop, so I get to play the good cop. Hunting is kind of like a political or religious discussion...I just have to agree to disagree with some and respect the rights for all of us to have different opinion. As far as death, people, I have learned, value lives differently. Most of us value human life above all other, but then the waters get murky as to how we/they place other animals in the pecking order. There are those who believe the environment, air, water, animals (or combinations thereof) is theirs to do as they please, and there are those who believe man was granted this status intended as a steward and caretaker of these things. I believe a responsible hunter can justifiably fall into the latter although it is not something I care to do. I do eat meat, which often creates conflict within my own mind. I am careful as much as I can be to only buy from reputable and humane suppliers. I also take care to respect the animal (s) that I may consume and don't treat the meat and carcasses like so much scrap paper to toss into the refuse pile. Just my survival mechanism. At the end of this, I will fully state, I do not respect trophy hunting.

I was being sarcastic when I said you had yours in check as I was sarcastically calling you out for being sarcastic by pretending that you weren't, after you called me out for being sarcastic.

When i made my first harvest i felt extreme excitement and sense of pride! There was a period of rationalization (sp.) where i had realized what i had done (kill), but after that set in and i knew (understood) why (food, father-son bonding, and just experiencing mother nature in a whole new way) I was hooked. Unfortueitly this yr will be the first year since I was 13 (21yr) that I will not partake in deer season due to work. But however i am looking foward to Dec. 26 and the recentily adopted 3rd annual day after Christmas Rabbit Hunt with my dad.

I enjoy the speding time hunting more than the hunt anyways. Even deer hunting we can cover more ground seperating but we seem to always end up sitting side by side like we did when i was a kid. Just conversing and waiting on the deer to join the party.

I find no "rush" or "thrill" in killing any animal that I hunt. It is part of my culture and who I am, learned from my family, a part of who we are. The thrill that most people talk about is an adrenaline rush that comes from intense focus and then a relaxing of that focus.

 

I don't know about guys that are gay that hunt, I suspect that if they learned to hunt when they were younger and took to it, then they still do.

 

I doubt there is any scientific correlation between being a gay man and hunting or not.

 

I also see a lot of baiting going on throughout this post….and I hunt free range so I'm out….:banana:
