8th Region Coach who gets the most out of his talent?

Featured Replies

Too early to tell, but this new Walton coach may be on the list eventually too.

I agree with this! Curious to see what he can do @WV. Also, Jones from GC does a great job year after year!

Jones by a landslide.

IMO with some of the teams that has come through SK I would say that Steiner does the least with what he has!

This is an area of "probability" versus "possibility" to me. Is it possible for an Oldham County or an Anderson County, or even a Simon Kenton to go through years where they don't have much in the way of talent? Sure. Just about anything is possible. But, just from a pure numbers game, it's definitely a whole lot more probable to happen at Gallatin County than any of the other schools. And for Coach Jones to have the success he's had, given the student body that he's had to pull from over the years, is just remarkable in my mind.

Gallatin County was only 15-12 last year and 16-13 the year before that. You all act like Jones is winning 20 games a season.

No one has said that,,the question is,,,what coach gets the most out of his talent.....

I fully admit I am no expert on the 8th region, but the year Morgan was a senior at Gallatin, they had another solid kid that I can't recall his name, and I'd hardly call that doing more with less with all due respect.

Agree totally, winning 20 games does not mean that the coach is doing a great job

I watched SK beat Gallatin last year at Gallatin. Only thing I was impressed with was Gallatins gym. Their coach wined about every call the refs made. Steiner is better coach in my opinion. Steiner is also a great guy off the court.

Incorrect..................the other solid kid was Morgan's junior year. But, we are not referring to one season alone.

And I'm not arguing but was that the 16-13 season?

Steiner got the most out of Morrison last year enough said!

I am a Steiner fan, as is Coach Jones. But, you are missing the point, you are basing your uninformed opinion on one game. We are basing our opinion on factual evidence and body of work over a long period of time. You know, just like everyone on this board bases their opinion of your posts based on your long history of boisterous, uninformed posts on this board.
