Anyone have any statistics on Ironton? Rushing, passing, points allowed/game, points/game, etc.

Don't count out the Rams but Ironton is huge up front and fast RB. Plus, we are down 14 already going to Tank Memorial Stadium.

By looking at this scale, Ohio teams would garner more points by playing good KY teams and beating them rather than playing and beating good OH teams. Am I correct?

 

Why else do you think Ironton was so eager to schedule another Kentucky team when Raceland called? Ironton loves that they (usually) beat up on Russell and Ashland and those schools usually get them a lot of points. So when the smaller Raceland Rams who have a very good program and consistently win 7-10 games a year called, Ironton was all aboard.

Yes, if you play a big KY school that ends up with a good record you make out pretty good. Ashland for instance is a D3 school in Ohio, we get 5.5 points for each game they win where as you play a D3 Team in Ohio with the same record as Ashland they might play lower Division schools which would equate to less points.

Is every high school football coach in OH a math major? Seems a little confusing. I have been around KY coaches who could not figure this system out on their best days.

 

The system looks confusing but it's really not that hard, it's harder to explain on here than it really is. I guess we're all used to it, it's been this way for years in OH.

and I have still yet to understand the Ohio playoff qualification system.

Don't get me wrong bc I believe that here in KY. it is absolutely ridiculous that 4 teams go. A 4 team district, as most are, a team goes 0-10 and they're in the playoffs. :ohbrother: Our system not only rewards mediocrity, it rewards total failure !

There is no more of a Raceland Ram Homer than me and I know full well this will be a very tall task for my Rams. Ironton has beaten Ashland 41-13 and Russell 36-9. I personally believe that Raceland is better than both of these right now and will play Ironton a lot tougher if not pull the upset and beat the mighty Fighting Tigers.

I will say that especially with the playoffs coming up next week I hope that Win or lose that we get out of the Tank with everyone healthy, no injuries.

 

RAMS .....NO ONE outside of Ram Nation expects you to win this one. As others have said getting a Goose Egg hung on them at Ram Stadium last season did not go over too well. The Tigers and their fans expected to come over here and dominate / kick llitle ol' Raceland's butt.

I would say that they are foaming at the mouth to get at Raceland this Friday. Absolutely Nothing to LOSE and it's you against the world ..... Let it Go, No Regrets !!

We actually have 2 stud FB's, both are great blockers but rarely run the ball. I don't know of either one being injured. One of them plays mostly LB on Defense. Our backfield is our bright spot, we are fairly deep back there.
