I am thinking that maybe for enjoyment each class could have an All-Star game at the end. Not everybody gets to play in the big Bluegrass All-Star game.

 

If you are in the bluegrass all-star game you would be exempt to playing.

 

I say do a whole 2-3weeks after football just to say for instance:

 

1A All Star Team 1 vs. 1A All star Team 2

 

2A All Star Team 1 vs. 2A All Star Team 2

 

3A All Star Team 1 vs. 3A All Star Team 2

 

4A All Star Team 1 vs. 4A All Star Team 2

 

5A All Star Team 1 vs. 5A All Star Team 2

 

6A All Star Team 1 vs. 6A All Star Team 2

 

 

then take the winners and keep going (Example)

I'm agreed also, I say just have one big tournament of all Football teams in the top 10?

I could see one All Star game per class... Nobody is playing football into January.

If only we had a indoor stadium.

You all understand what i'm trying to do though, something fun and interesting for each class to show all their talent to other classes that they do not get to play and show players talents. I think it would be interesting for every class to have an Allstar Team and actually play

The question is how many kids would even bother to play. Winter sports would be in full go, and you'd need at least a week of practice for the all star teams. Then considering most would have to miss school to practice because of travel, and you have a logistical nightmare. That's why many stats wait until after school lets out to play all star games, but nowadays, many top recruits don't play anyway. It's a fun idea, an event is like to see, I just think it's too difficult to pull off logistically after the season concludes.

So the season wouldn't be over until April.............of the following year? lol

Someone already mentioned that it will run into the basketball season and/ or the weather... Also some of the top seniors will probably won't want to play into a such a long all star season with the scare of injuring themselves and hurting their changes to play at the next level.

Doing it mid season wouldn't change any of the logistical/travel issues. You cannot field a football team without having some sort of practice time. Other sports don't need the practice time. You can play a basketball or baseball team without ever holding a practice together. And no way Head Coaches would go for shutting the season down for a week or two to send the studs off to play in an all star game. And in the end, you'd still be pushing the end of the season back a couple of week.

 

The beginning of the season is no better, as again, pre season is when you develop timing and cohesiveness, and install plays and schemes. Something I know head coaches would hate. It would help with the whole missing school for all star practice, but doesn't change the fact that travel and lodging for a week or two of practice is still a problem, and that solution still adds two weeks to the season.
