What if UGA has two losses?

I strongly, STRONGLY doubt 3 teams from the same conference get in. I simply don't believe that the committee will do it, even if it's perceived that 3 of the best 4 teams are from the same conference. I think it would take something unbelievably bad to happen in every other major conference.

 

Maybe not, but I also don't think it's very far-fetched that 5 of the top 6 teams in the country are from the same conference.

Absolutely NO way three teams make it. I cannot see any scenario in which a team that does not make it's conference championship makes the playoff, and rightfully so. Florida State has a very poor schedule the rest of the way. They are in. Notre Dame runs the table, they are in. That's two. There is football outside of the SEC, and it's actually pretty good. SEC maybe gets two, but I still think it will be just one. If there is a one loss Michigan State or Oregon, they will make it. This committee was designed to prevent conference bias, despite what ESecPN tries to promote.

Their only loss would be very early right after its QB was hurt and now that the backup has some starts under his belt, he has looked great and OSU seems to put up 50 every game...admittedly against lesser competition.

Over a 2 loss SEC team? Most likely.

One thing I think will be very interesting is to see how teams change their philosophy once the initial rankings come out.

 

This year, more than ever, the eyeball test matters.

 

A team that starts the rankings out #6-7 may not sub out their starters in the 4th quarter of a game that's already decided. They may keep pounding it to try to make a better impression on the committee...

This assumes the Big 10 Champ (OSU or MSU) only has one loss, Fla St hasn't imploded and is undefeated or has one loss and either Oregon or ND wins out. What other one loss team have I forgotten??

I guess you have to ask yourself if you want the 4 best teams in the country in the final 4. If so then how do you not have at least SEC teams in.

 

 

Look, I want the best chance that the best 2 teams play for the title. The BCS did a great job of that. I've been saying since it was announced a 4 team playoff does not settle any of the gripes people had with the BCS. Until you go to a min of 8 teams the crying will continue. I'd rather have he BCS than a 4 team playoff.
